Sky need to change rider, like now.
They aren't riding amazingly smart.

Stop for a moment and realize that a few years from now, we'll be thinking to ourselves "I remember watching live when Boonen tried that epic move back in 2012".
Whether he makes it or not, this is a mark in cycling history.....
.....and the gap keeps growing

In 2005 Boonen won it from quite far too, if memory serves. |

Indeed, when Cancellara did it, he relied on his TTing.
Boonen doesn't really have that, he's just going for it. It's quite awesome actually.

he will win a lot of fans today. It is a feeling what it was years back..when Tom won Tour green jersey..and nobody believed it. |

Stannard is completely dead.
Just underlines the stupid tactic from Flecha. Attacking, dropping Stannard, Stannard fights/attacks his way back, only to take a couple of short turns at the front, and then get dropped again. I think a chase from Flecha, Hayman and Stannard would have kept Boonen on no more than 30 seconds. It just feels like Sky has let another golden opportunity go for Boasson Hagen
But it's a brilliant ride from Boonen so far. Absolutely amazing. |
