Costa Rica should get more credit. RVP is probably worth more than the entire Costa Rica team and they took Holland to penalties.
My heart would have loved to see Costa Rica go past Holland, they have been so big underdogs and to take on 3 former WC and win is just insane.
But their luck ran out and Van Gaal just had balls the size of jupiter with that goalie change ....... Also Kruul was just epic.
But Premier League just became 200 times more exciting, Mourinho, Pellegrini and now Van Gaal.

Yep, but that doesn't mean they wont be in the european league since UEFA has a bit of trouble with some Turkish clubs which have been barred and banned from all european competitions.
So unless UEFA overturns their decision on appeal United will get the spot. |

Loved that Krul guy, jumping around like a shaman. Great game, real exciting, so at least one match has partly caused some quality entertainment. Props to Costa Rica.

For playing well of course. Different to you, I recognize defense to be a necessary part of football and an area of its own to master. CR coach had some great instructions for his players. Costa Rica did it well with their limitied quality, and they have put in a discplined effort throughout the match - what did you expect? That'd they play against Netherlands like they did against an Uruguay without bite/Suarez? But try to diminish their effort in that manner, it won't help you - Netherlands were great, Robben was on fire and Costa Rica kept it together. I'm happy for your country but complaining about Costa Rica now is so childish. Keep your hate for destructive football reserved for Chelsea or something like that, for teams that could and can play way better but refuse to do so - but don't poke fun at outsiders like Costa Rica and their tactics, there's no class in that.
Also, wern't you the guy who wanted an all-attacking netherlands to get kicked out of group stage? Thankfully - again different to you - Van Gaal understands the necessity of defense too.
