Winners never quit, quitters never win.

Ollfardh - Thanks! First time that happens Wink

Jesleyh - You can say that!

SSJ2Luigi - how do you mean? Pfft

PCM rulezz - Thank you!

Honorary mention for Daniel Martin as he won LBL in real life! Just when I become fan of the team, they win, how great is that Pfft

That's not fair, I'm a Blanco/Rabo fan for a long time, but they never win Sad

if Willy wasn't so good he could have shown his world jersey Wink

Ian Butler
Oh yeah Pfft I was really disappointed by that!

Anyway, hope nobody minds but I'm editing Martin's stats to 81 HILLS Pfft

Jesleyh
Well, Martin's Hill is already 80, seems enough for me Wink
But no, I don't mind, no need to ask us anyway Smile

80 might be enough if I played the Ardennes. But I'll be quick simming, and I fear he won't be anywhere with 80.

Willy coming up in his Rainbow Jersey!

Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucia - Stage 1

Preview

A race that seems to favor punchers. A prologue, two sprint finishes and two uphill finishes.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/anda01_zpsd17839fa.jpg

Stijn: I'll be a happy man if I can get a stage win here!

Willy: The prologue is my main objective here. With my Rainbow Jersey, I'm concentrating on Time Trialing more than ever. But don't worry, I won't forget about climbing either! Though my puncher-skills can be developed some more in the future, I must make choices right now.

The Race

Stijn Van Gent

Willy couldn't help himself to make me do some time trial training this winter. He gave me some wonderful tips and I feel much better on a time trial bike now. My prologue-effort was good enough for a top 10. Maybe those points will come in handy later.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/anda02_zps8c6cbd5b.jpg

Willy Wouters

I can't tell you what a rush it was. But here is it for the first time.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/anda03_zps9093da8c.jpg

After the race, I watched the footage and I must say I'm still shocked. This is an amazing jersey and I can't believe I'm wearing it for an entire year!

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/anda04_zpsb56fde8a.jpg

There was another chilling moment when part of the crowd chanted my name. I finished 3th. Lost 3 seconds to Tony Martin. For a prologue, that's pretty good for me.

Okay, I am officially pissed off. Once again the game keeps crashing over this next stage. It seems all those pre-season races have heavily bugged stages. I will quick sim the rest of Andalucia and then race the Omloop, because I'm really sick of all this crashing.

EDIT. Next race will be Omloop, hope that all troubles are now finally behind me. That being said, I'm not really in the mood anymore to play, so I'll do it tomorrow. I'll just do a small update now about the quick-simmed Andalucia.

Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucia

The rest of the race was not interesting for us. We kept our noses clean. There were some protest by local people that got away in the race, the roads were dangerous, the pace high. In the end we both avoided any risks so we never really came close to a win or a podium here. No big deal.

Aftermath

Stijn's first goal is coming up, and the form seems right. The Belgian opening weekend (and Le Samyn) will be exciting to watch! Hope Stijn can break his streak in the Omloop of being 2nd and finally win in Gent!

Other News

As we just passed the 22th of February, Stijn's had his birthday. Normally we don't really pay attention to it, but it's a special one. Stijn is now 25 years old!

Can you think of a better birthday present than winning the Omloop?
See you there,
Stijn & Willy

MrUfo87
Why don't you use a WC TT jersey with a sponsor? And why has Stijn not the Belgium tapes because he's former national champion? Good results so far at Garmin. Wink

Ian Butler
I don't know why he doesn't have the tapes. What could be wrong? Do I have to import a new jersey for that or should it automatically be added to any jersey?
I'll check it tomorrow in Fast Editor, if he has the "former national champion" thing on.

But my guess is, because of the cold weather he's only worn long sleeves (black sleeves added to the jersey), maybe the tapes don't show up when the sleeves are down?

Pellizotti2
It's added to the jersey automatically.

Thanks, Pellizotti2

Well, I checked in the PCM Fast Editor and he does have "formed National Champion" ticked on. So I guess the long sleeves and later on the yellow jersey blocked the tapes?

We'll see whenever he rider in short sleeves somewhere.
