i always eat a big bowl of pasta and a piece of steak or chicken.

pasta

Smoothie
I eat what ever i want. I guess im lucky like that. But if i was racing i would eat based on anti inflammatory, thats most important. If you dont eat that way you can end up destroying yourself and then getting worse. Its a downhill spiral.

Anyone doing any of the Upavon Summer Series which start on Monday?

did my first proper 10 of the season on saturday. quite blustery conditions dispite the beautiful weather meant it wasn't a very fast day at all. my mate who usually does a short 21 on this course and is capable of going under 20.30 mins on the right course only did 22.34 which shows how much slower it was then normal.

i missed out on my pb by 13 seconds so given the conditions i was quite pleased with 23.37. i definately got to get under 23 mins this year. but i am on course if i continue at the same rate as the last 2 seasons. 2 years ago i started the season at 25.30(ish) and got down to 24.30. last year i started at 24.30 and got down to 23.24. so if i'm starting this season at 23.37, in theory i should be well into 22 something by the end of the season. or at least thats what i keep telling myself anyway:lol:

Came 2nd in 3/4/J event of the West Midlands Regional Championship, winning the West Midlands Junior Competition in the process, £75 and a lovely gold medal, not a bad weekend.

How many races have you raced so far this season? I've only three. Two road races and one uphill TT.

The first road race was fairly easy. 80 km flat. I started in an average heat, and I won that one too. The best junior rider was eight minutes in front though... Pfft

The uphill TT was 3,9 km, fit for me (185cm, 60kg), but I only managed fourth place after suffering the first 1-1,5 km. 3 sec behind third, 4 sec behind 2nd.

Road race, small hills and some flats, then a 6 km uphill finish 7 % avg. Two of my team-mates attacked in the beginning of the last hill, and I was set to make a slow pace for the followers so they didn't manage to catch them. I felt good all day, so I wasn't very happy... When my teammates got a big enough gap, half-way in the hill, I started to set a faster pace. Only one guy managed to follow me, but a kilometer later I attacked. Almost got up to the duo. Third for me Grin

Next race is a 10 km flat TT, 17th of June.. Wink I'll maybe update after that.

Congrats Smile

A bit late, but I watched the South Region version go past my house (from a distance) on Sunday, although I had no idea what event it was at the time, even though it actually started in a neighbouring village. They were very noisy Pfft

well done halvor. if you upload the results then i'll give you your points.

i've got 19 crits, 5 road races and a one stage race(1 TT, 1 rr, one crit) this season.

Best results are at Wente Crit and Merco Road Race (5th and 6th respectively) Both of those races I raced smart against some bigger teams. I also got 5th in the Auburn Criterium, but that was just a race of attrition. The guy who won Auburn went on to win the State Championships Crit the next weekend and is a cat 2.

Coming up this weekend I have an 18 mile hill climb on saturday and a Criterium sunday. I'm expecting my first win of the season Sunday. Haven't won a race since late last year.

27 races total

supposed to be doing a 10 today. but a combination of me having a cold and the terrible weather mean i'm goin to the pub instead to watch England:lol:

I did my first E/1/2 only race today. Its a completely different ball game to the 3/4 racing. Only an hour crit but we averaged 26.5mph despite it being quite windy, and I hit 36mph in the sprint and wasn't getting anywhere lol. Came 16th so was 1 place out of the points! Sad

Got third at Ross' Epic Hill Climb in my category. very hard. Last 2 miles were probabaly somewhere between 20 and 25 %. 18 miles total, about 10 of those were uphill. I held on to the front 2 (my teammates) until about 6 miles to go. About 20 guys started in my wave, a bunch of those guys went off at the base of the climb and Myself and 3 teammates just chilled. I knew the climb well, it's were I do my hill intervals, and one of my teammates had done it before a couple times. We started pulling guys back and then Sam and Nate (my teammates, very strong, both cat 3's, sam having won 2 big hilly road races, added another today, and Nate who has podiumed at races like Merco (RR and Crit) and State Crits Championships and winning an early season crit)

Here is my evidence of getting my ass handed to me.

I won today at the Two Wheel Crit. Attacked with a teammate 2 laps to go.

I did another category later. Bridged to a 3 man breakaway and we held on till 6 to go. I steyed near the front but picked the wrong train ending up top 20
