If only we had put a rider in the breakaway. I get it they are helping Gesink, but it's not like they have a jersey to defend...

I can only second alexkr00 regarding the lack of breakaway attempts. And seeing Keinath was able to go for it sitting 16th in the GC, Nesset and my other riders shouldn't be denied due to GC positions. Hopefully we can change that and turn more aggressive.
But huge congratulations on the stage win, SN! Also a good stage for Spilak, controlling the other GC riders well and defending his race lead well. Good to see Guldhammer be there as well, eventhough he really had to seeing the other riders that were there. |

Ehhmmm okay... PCM never dissapoints when it comes to unpredictable behavior.
Spilak was very quickly isolated there, but nothing happened, so we have that going for us. Huge win for SN. For the 2nd GT an underperforming GC rider makes a drastic leap.
We don't seem to be in a good position for the team GC anymore after Novak picked up an injury. A lot of responsibility is on the shoulders of Vasyliv here...

Lololololol. What a ridiculous stage
Glad Koch was in that group. Stage Points, improving in KoM and GC and taking away sprint points from the top climbers -> great job. That was his Pereiro esque attempt, now one more like that and he has serious GC ambitions once again. The goal hope lives!
Great to see the rest of the team finishing inside the time gap. Feared this stage would end the race for some of them when the group got such a gap.
Next stage is a must win stage for Van Stayen!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Hehe - what a stage
First signs of life by Slagter is nice to see! Also an 2nd spot here is cool.
Carapaz in the favourite group showing good form. Really want to see him go for a stage win in similar fashion, as he is 50 mins behind in GC.
Congratz SN. Keinath was the obvious pick for the win in that group

Wrong rider in the break. Another drop in the GC. This won't be better than last month

Great ride by Keinath to put win a stage and put himself in a nice gc spot, congrats to SN.
Exciting race so far, great work with the reporting!

I should complain about the lack of attacking more often! Two days in the break for Grmay, up to 10th on GC and 2nd in the KOM hunt amd 3rd on the stage... great riding from him. Puzzled at the Pinot tactic but it didn't affect the result at all.
More attacks please!

Well then.
It really hadn't been a good race for Keinath til that point. Stage 12 was the first sign of promise, but Stage 13 was another letdown. Going from riding with Haig, to finishing more than a minute behind him, in a group with Sagan.
Crucially though, it put him up to 16th overall and prime breakaway territory - Bongiorno was 16th (Konig 17th) going into Stage 15 of the Giro after all.
But the way it played out was just crazy. A great rescue effort by Heymes to set the move up, then just an extraordinary gap. I was just laughing every time the updates came in, and it was still over 20 minutes. It's poor AI, so can only be thankful that it has massively favoured me.
Keinath now only the 3rd Vesuvio rider to win this season; with such a big advantage to stay in the Top 10; and the GC position that means he probably will not be as passive as on the previous stages anyway.
It transforms what had been a pretty miserable Tour til now, and very satisfyingly justifies my transfers strategy.

What a shit stage...such big gaps should never be allowed and seeing the slow pace behind, it's really frustrating to still lose 5 more minutes...it's now double digit loss that is just annoyingly unnecessary for Dekker and ruining his GC.
Good for SN of course with this random luck break here. I probably can't complain as I had that kind of luck last year. |

What I hate about this stage is that Taaramae needs to win time, but he dosen't even try... Andf then looses a place in the GC (that he should take back) for no reason
But again, someone will always be lucky, this time it was Keinath

High quality sprint by Demare there, gratz Cio. Happy with another podium place by Boekmans, didn't expect one today due to the hills so I am all the more happier with it. Nice report as always, and that finish line shot is great (Strava jersey in HighRes <3)

Another breakaway attempt here is nice. Hope Bilbao or Slagter will try again on the hilly stage.
Although Demare wont win green, he is still having decent race here. Gratz cio!

Not a good day for Spotify, so I can't be too happy for why this happened, but...
Seeing Kragh Andersen in the top 10 on a Tour de France stage makes me wanna cry tears of joy. I'm so happy for him. Certainly he can take that kind of experience back with him to PCT (or CT) races next year and transfer it into some points for his home team. Thanks to Viking for giving AKA this opportunity!

For a second I thought that Spilak had managed to jump in with the front group and gained a minute on the rest... unfortunately not.
Just 1 point besind Phinney at this point will make the next stage interesting. Spilak have been reluctant to use the Hills to his advantage, but a better stage result than Phinney will see him take the points lead foran while.
Phinney the obvious favorite for the shirt because of the TT, but could go to Taaramäe aswell if he gets two stagewins and a stage podium on the TT...
Some interesting fights here and there. Only the KOM seems almost decided. My fingers are crossed that my former loanie Grmay is unhurt and can keep up the great form.
