Tour Down Under Stage 4

Another mass sprint in Australia and this time it started quite good for Wegmann

But Pozzato and Boonen were faster than him, blocking Wegmann behind. On the other side of the road Hondo seems to be pretty fast as well

This is going to be very close between Hondo, Pozzato, Gasparotto and Boonen

And the winner is Pozzato followed by Gasparotto and Boonen. Wegmann just 7th

With the bonifications Gasparotto got the leaders jersey back. Trofimov is now only third

Tour Down Under Stage 5

There were a lot of attacks on Willunga. The first were made by Pozzato and Kiryienka

Wegmann went with a group with Ignatiev, Meersman, Trofimov and Gasparotto

But no one of those are in front of the downhill. Boonen, Flecha and Fuglsang are leading on the downhill and they are followed by a lot of chasing group

The main one with all the favourites is pretty close and one of the riders that are there is Wegmann

As the flat portion arrived Fuglsang wasn't able to keep it up with Flecha and Boonen and he was caught by the chasers

Spilak is leading the chasing group and they are getting closer and closer to Flecha and Boonen

Speaking of those 2 it seems that they will fight for the stage win. Well at least Boonen as Flecha has no chance in a sprint against him

And it's Boonen who wins the queen stage in Tour Down Under

Wegmann finished 10th and he still has a good overall ranking

Second stage win and Boonen is back in the leaders jersey

Also there are no other climbs in the last stage so Flens is the winner of the KoM rankings

Stage
| 1 | | Tom Boonen | Quick·Step | 3h33'43 | | 2 | | Juan Antonio Flecha | Rabobank | s.t. | | 3 | | Simon Spilak | Lampre - N.G.C | s.t. | | 4 | | Fran Pérez | Caisse d'Epargne | s.t. | | 5 | | Vasil Kiryienka | Caisse d'Epargne | s.t. | | 6 | | Jakob Fuglsang | Team Saxo Bank | s.t. | | 7 | | Filippo Pozzato | Team Katusha | s.t. | | 8 | | Enrico Gasparotto | Lampre - N.G.C | s.t. | | 9 | | Mikhail Ignatiev | Team Katusha | s.t. | | 10 | | Fabian Wegmann | Team Milram | s.t. |

Tour Down Under Final Stage

Last sprint in Down Under, but in one of the last corners one of the leading riders crashes. It's Pineau

And he caused a big crash. Big names are involved like Flecha, Trofimov, Kiryienka or Fuglsang

Also almost the whole Katusha team is down, including Ignatiev, Pozzato, Steegmans and Napolitano

In front no team was able to control the sprint and it looks like going to be a close one

Hondo and O'Grady entered the last corner with a small advantage over the others

And O'Grady gets a nice win in the home tour

The Katusha group is 2 minutes and 10 seconds down. A lot of big names lost their places in the overall rankings today

Boonen was not involved in the crash and wins Tour Down Under 2009. Also with the last events Wegmann managed to get on the podium

G.P. Costa degli Etruschi

Even though no everyone wanted this is going to end in a mass sprint. Ciolek is trying to get a good place, behind the ISD train

When the the sprint starts ISD and CarmioOro have the best positions. Ciolek maintain himself behind the ISD gains and he looks to be in a good position as well

With just one kilometre left to ride Ciolek is trying to get in the slipstream of Ventoso

That helped him launch his real sprint and is going to between him, Ventoso and Biondo as they are wheel to wheel in the last corner

And it's Ciolek's win!

Stroetinga seems to be very happy with his team victory

Ciolek cebrates on the podium our first win of the season
