[CT] Bianchi Enel

We don't plan on fighting any other italian teams Grin at least not physically

The hills is obviously still a big focus for us but i think that base is already sorted so padding out other terrains will be the big transfer focus

Obviously a much smaller squad than you entered transfers with, but Moscon on that wage is a solid starting point for building a competitive roster. Looking forward as well to see how your attempt to become a more Italian team goes Smile

Great wage imo very happy with him for this year the Italian part is going to be the real issue with a lot of teams out there but got to make the best of it somehow!

Love the kit, big fan of the iconic celeste. Hopefully it helps you blast through the season to other heights. Buona fortuna (or something like that)!

Enel–Bianchi Cycling Team Announces First Two Signings: Alessandro Romele and Valerio Conti Join the Roster

The newly launched Enel–Bianchi Continental cycling team has taken its first decisive step toward building a competitive and proudly Italian squad, announcing the signings of Alessandro Romele and Valerio Conti as its inaugural riders.

Both riders bring a blend of youth and experience that aligns perfectly with the team’s vision of cultivating Italian talent while remaining fiercely competitive on the Continental Tour. Romele, a rising star known for his aggressive racing style and cobbled potential, joins the team with an eye on development and breakthrough performances. Conti, a seasoned professional adds leadership and tactical depth to the roster.

"I'm thrilled to be part of something fresh and ambitious," said Romele. "Racing for an Italian team backed by iconic names like Enel and Bianchi is a dream. I’m ready to learn, grow, and fight for results."
Conti echoed the excitement: "This project feels special. It’s not just about racing—it’s about representing Italian cycling with pride. I’m looking forward to mentoring younger riders and helping the team punch above its weight."

Team management emphasised that these signings reflect the squad’s commitment to an Italian roster, reinforcing its identity and mission. "Alessandro and Valerio are exactly the kind of riders we want: passionate, talented, and deeply connected to Italy’s cycling heritage," said the team’s general manager. "They set the tone for what this team will stand for: grit, unity, and national pride."

With the the roster beginning to take shape, anticipation builds for the team’s debut on the Continental Tour. More signings and race announcements are expected in the coming weeks."

Bianchi Enel Secure Dion Smith, Top Continental Tour Climber, for 2025 Season

The Bianchi Enel cycling team has added serious firepower to its climbing arsenal with the signing of Dion Smith, one of the standout performers of last season’s Continental Tour. Smith, formerly of Duvel–Tsingtao, finished 11th overall in the 2024 rankings and was widely regarded as one of the most consistent climbers in the peloton.

The New Zealand-born rider brings international flair and proven pedigree to the predominantly Italian squad, reinforcing the team’s ambition to compete aggressively in stage races and mountainous terrain. His attacking style and tactical intelligence make him a valuable asset as the team builds toward its debut season.
“Joining Bianchi Enel feels like the perfect next step,” said Smith. “The team has a clear vision, strong leadership, and a deep respect for cycling tradition. I’m excited to contribute to the project and target big results in the climbs.”

Team management expressed enthusiasm about the signing, noting Smith’s versatility and experience. “Dion is a rider who can change the dynamic of a race. His results speak for themselves, and his presence will elevate the entire squad,” said the team’s general manager. “While we remain committed to an Italian roster, Dion’s signing reflects our desire to complement that core with world-class talent.”

Smith joins Gianni Moscon, Alessandro Romele, and Valerio Conti in what is shaping up to be a formidable lineup for the 2025 Continental Tour.

Smith is a bit expensive, but he is just a lovely rider with a perfect breakaway ability.

The Italians seem like perfect fits :-)

In addition to the vision, leadership, etc., I'm sure Dion also appreciates the pay rise Pfft

That's a bigtime signing for Bianchi, instant top 3 contenders!

We've really tried hard to learn from our friends at Duvel and there top effort last season hoping it pays off

Think he's pretty bang average for what a CT mountains leader is making in free agency tbh so actually not too displeased about the wage.

Bianchi–Enel Continental cycling team has secured a major piece of its strategic puzzle with the signing of Leonardo Basso, who will lead the squad’s campaign across the cobbled classics. A long-time target of team management, Basso arrives with a reputation for grit, tactical sharpness, and an uncanny ability to thrive in the chaos of northern Europe’s toughest one-day races.

“Leonardo was our number one priority from the start,” said the team’s general manager. “His skillset is tailor-made for the cobbles, and his experience will be invaluable as we build a team capable of competing in the most demanding spring races. He’s not just a rider he’s a cornerstone.”

Basso, known for his aggressive positioning and resilience in brutal conditions, expressed enthusiasm about the move. “I’m honoured to take on the role of classics leader for Bianchi–Enel. The cobbled races are where I feel most alive, and I’m ready to fight for results with a team that shares my hunger.”
His signing adds tactical depth to a roster already featuring Gianni Moscon, Dion Smith, Valerio Conti, and Alessandro Romele.

Agreed it's interesting his Neo-pro season was actually for me at RBC 10 years ago now too!

Great memories of Leo... Signed him in my first year in 2019, and had to loan him out first. Then he was our best cobbler for quite some time before Theuns joined us (in a swap deal involving Leo and Gabby)... A great dom, sadly I couldn't fit him in, either. Enjoy Wink

Ulrich Ulriksen
Congrats on the signings, Smith is a proven commodity. Shows how different riders can fit in different situations, he was great as PT stage hunger and great as a CT leader but in PCT where he was caught in between he didn't do much.
