As always your HQ is one of my faves in terms of the aesthetics and record keeping. That document looks truly incredible, I will certainly dig in when I get the time - probably in the afternoons during transfers waiting for people to come online Outstanding and inspiring work of team history, just jaw-dropping. Chapeau!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Insane indeed. jandal's said it right. What a monument to the game!
Congrats on the promotion. Not looking forward to have Jorgenson and Elosegui in PCT, but it's great to see you up again. Good luck!

Not much to see in this update as the second part of our transfer window review covers the riders we sold and the riders we bought.
Yacob Debesay: The last remaining asset received from the Biniam Girmay trade last season and we have sold him for 290,000 to Trans Looney Tunes. Debesay was on the selling block for a majority of the transfer season before we finally decided to pull the trigger to put more money in our training funds.
Karl Patrick Lauk: A bargain leadout man who was secured late in the transfer window from Polar for 125,000. The 28-year-old is the first ever Estonian cyclist to race for the program. He has a high motor and isn't afraid of the cobbles. Look for him to organize our sprint trains if we can get them established.

Bidding wars and new signings. Always a hectic, but fun time. We are extremely pleased with the quality and future potential our new guys are bringing in.
Welcome to Zwift - Newton Foundation (in the order that they signed):
Colby Simmons: Our next cobbled experiment, and for once we are staying home with this one after failed attempts in Europe (Marcos Altur, traded away in 2019 for Simon Yates) and Africa (Biniam Girmay, you know what happened). While we also had other cobblers in mind, Simmons took a stay-home discount and signed for a pretty reasonable wage of 275,000.
Colby enters the pro cycling scene with a unique skillset that we think can separate him from the bunch. We also tried to convince his brother Quinn to join the squad, but talks with McCormick Pro Cycling broke down when they started asking for Matteo Jorgenson. So, we shall try again next season.

Lawson Craddock: Sometimes things come full circle. Ten years ago, when Craddock was a wide-eyed 23-year-old, we loaned him in at Movistar-US Postal. Here we are a decade later and Craddock is 33 years old and getting ready to hang up his wheels. Instead, we picked him up again for a modest 65,000 wage. His experience and knowledge will be valuable for all the youngsters on the team this season. Welcome back Lawson!

Joseph Blackmore: The next stage racing talent from Great Britain. Joe is also an avid mountain bike racer and loves the gravel. The lad from Sidcup, England, is going to fit right in with our mountain goats. He signed for a nice payday of 320,000 — the second highest wage on the team.

Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev: Another reunion! Kozhat is back for his third season with our organization following back-to-back seasons with Desigual in 2018-19. In 131 race days, he collected 318 points. He is now an old vet at 33 years old, but still has some climbing ability and can help out on the cobbles. So pleased to give him a farewell season for a 80,000 wage.

John Jimenez Retana: We got another sprinter! We have dipped into Costa Rica for the first time after JJR was displaced with Manada Coyote disbanding. The 26-year-old will be a quality sprinter for us in races where we can't send Bram Welten, and he has C2 eligibility which is a nice plus for a 60,000 wage.

Fredrik Ludvigsson: Not the Swedish rider we were hoping to sign (best of luck to Jakob Soderqvist in the future), but 31-year-old Ludvigsson provides much needed depth on the hills for minimum wage of 50,000. He also looks somewhat comfortable on the time trial bike, so that's a nice plus.

A super young squad but I would say with your 2 GC leaders that you should be able to survive the PCT. Every time I look at Jorgenson and Elosegui stats I get more scared
Some of those young guys have excellent potential as well! Great finds!! Good team so far!

Instead, we are happy to have two national champions on the squad this year.

Clever use of the Bermudan flag across the two Z's, really fun detail! Excited to see Connor go strong on a good looking team.

Obviously wanted Colby quite a bit based on my early bids, and in the end should have maybe stuck with him longer as I ended up empty in terms of a future cobbled leader. But he's found a more fitting home in the end. Congrats!
I'm a bit surprised to see your path for him though—certainly makes a very interesting rider, but I envisioned him as a true cobbles leader who would lean a bit more into that. The increase in hills in this path seems a bit marginal compared to the losses elsewhere.

The Colby development must surely mean heavy training investment in the future...
As always a very interesting setup based around young talented riders. Really like it!

@TMM: Had fun designing them and didn't take up too much time either, which is nice! Can't wait to see them in action.
@BBL312: I was pleasantly surprised when you and everybody else backed off on Colby Simmons. He actually wasn't my first choice, but very happy to snag him at the price we did. Had he gone higher, the other cobbled talents also would have went higher as well. We were willing to push well past a half million. But the bidding stopped on Simmons and we were able to pick up Joseph Blackmore because of it.
We are predicting many of the cobblers in this class to go down to the cobble/sprinter route and there is already Bini and other waiting at the top end as well, so we see Simmons more as a Gerts/Benoot type.
@SotD: Just so happens that our current two leaders will be nearing their first decline when Simmons is going to need his training cash influx. Strange how that works out.
And thanks! Everything is coming along as planned (minus losing Bini).

The moment everyone has been waiting so patiently for.
TVG wins the 2017 United States Road Race National Championship.
We are pleased to welcome back team legend Tejay Van Garderen for the 2025 season (and hopefully beyond) as a member of our coaching staff. Unable to secure a final contract as a cyclist, the 2011 World Champion is staying stateside to work for his former team.
Van Garderen joins past teammate Taylor Newton as an assistant directeur sportif under Mresuperstar. TVG raced four seasons under Mre's management (2015-17, 24), where he racked up 11 wins (fifth most in the program's history) and a team record 3,729 points scored.
We are excited for Tejay to bring his expertise into the team car and provide coaching for the next generation of Zwift - Newton Foundation superstars.
His presence last season with the team is already paying dividends.
We hoarded as much cash as we could and even left 125,000 of our salary cap untouched to make sure our leaders had the proper funding to improve this offseason. With the help of TVG and 2,750,000 invested, this is the end result.

That's a lot of training
Unsure if this is the biggest netgain in points for Jorgenson, could see a bigger pay off in pushing the TT more, but I do love the back to back investing into Elosegui's future, he is such a cool rider!

Interesting decision for Jorgenson, time will tell on the "right" call points-wise but I absolutely love the statline, nobody in the world currently with that MO/HI/TT combo. Plapp has 76HI 77TT, and of the top top guys Pogacar (pre-training) is 76HI and Lecuisinier 75HI. Pretty awesome

Last year in CT we achieved something special by completing all five team goals after going three straight seasons without hitting a single one. Naturally, the aim is to build on that success rather than slip back.
Our first objective isn’t promotion just yet, but breaking into the Top 10. The squad is strong enough to compete, but the long-term plan remains to move up to PT after the 2026 season. Goal two is to defend Inigo Elosegui's overall victory at the newly shortened 14-day Tour of America (C1).
From there, we’ll lean on our TTT strength and climbing depth to chase the top podium spot in Tour de Romandie (GC). Finally, we’ll look for Top 5 finishes at both the Tour de Suisse (PTHC) and Tour d’Andorra (HC) — the latter is where Matteo Jorgenson placed third last season to seal a Top 5 team goal as well.
To remove any doubt about who we’ve tasked with these goals, their names are bolded. Race schedules for our team leaders will be announced at a later date.
| ***Team Standings*** | Top 10 | Tour of America | Win | Tour de Romandie | Win | Tour de Suisse | Top 5 | Tour d'Andorra | Top 5 |
The team has also released its full 2025 calendar for the upcoming season.
