До свидания to the Russian Rocket Roman Maksimov. The hilly-hating, acceleration merchant who always found a way to lose sprints, but always made it an exciting bunch sprint. Enjoy your retirement and stay out of trouble.

Happy retirement Jonny Bellis the original hilly sprinter that opened the floodgates for SN and Jaguar-Eritel many many years ago now , he also became a real favourite for RBC dragging us out of the PCT and had one stage race in Beijing that year were he was dominant a true game shaping rider |

Two Minions legends retiring in Uran and Haga, as well as the entire top 4 of the legendary 2018 World Championship. What a class of riders parting the world cycling

Lots of great riders retiring! Besides the 8 that were already mentioned, Ulissi (MSR in 2012), Baugnies (winning quite some cobbled races in PCT), Uran (2 wins in PT/PTHC, several wins in PCT races) stand out - and of course, José Alarcon! He won the Vuelta in 2014 and the Giro in 2017, and plenty of races in PCT - for me, definitely the bigger name than Sicard!
The only rider on that list who ever rode for me is Saggiorato, my first stage racer - great memories of these days, and happy retirement to you!

Many great riders retiring. Ratiy was my first big purchase. I paid 1.1 mill for him iirc
Niki Østergaard I had on two ocassions, Brenes and Anacona I signed as talents once upon a time.
Nostalgic list!

A whole thread discussing retirement of important riders and nobody has mentioned Yannick Stoltz. What a legend!

Sam Bewley was clearly the king of the retirees for me as a cobbles focused team. Best to ever do it. Reporting a portion of his string of dominance at Roubaix is one of my favorite MG memories.
Ostergaard obviously my personal favorite here, though i consider some of those guys effectively retired for several years now. Him coming back to win GP Herning solo after I had already promoted and made him a domestique is probably his legacy.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
