No one stopping Grieg at the moment! Congratulations on a surprise win, tastasol!
For Amezawa, I guess that was a good stage, riding with a complete peloton and no GC gaps. Expect stage 3 to be another one for the GC riders, meaning we need hiim back at his best again there. Here’s for hoping.
Also thank you a lot for the reports and pace of them, UU. Greatly appreciated, especially with the tension, nerves and excitement that is in the PT standings. |

With Lutsenko winning the bunch sprint, maybe missing out on a couple stage points by Kurianov is a good thing as those bonus seconds could have come back to haunt us.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Would've liked to hang on to the mountain jersey a bit longer, I have to say. If we had sent Mugisha into the breakaway again, he could've gone toe to toe with Menten for the mountain points and competed for the stage win. Still, young Berhe did an admirable job and that 6th place in a PTHC stage is a nice early career highlight, which I'm happy about. Hopefully we keep our breakaway streak going and continue to get at least a handful of points out of it. Thanks for the report!

Lets hope Wilco does atleast something in the coming days or this will have been a waste of racedays.

Very happy with that stage win by Lutsenko! On paper that was the stage I was the most worried about in terms of getting dropped by better climbers. So to actually win it is amazing.
And wow, we definitely should've helped reeling in the break. Great sprint!

Wow, pleasant surprise! Not the prettiest sprint, but a win is a win. Great to see Hvideberg racing actively in the intermediates and then the big bonus with a stage win when it looked like the pelotong had it under control. That makes the race a success for us, and hopefully we can continue with getting in the breaks.

Good for the breakaway to take away the bonus seconds, makes things easier for Kinoshita

Not happy with our completely anonymous riding here. No breakaway attempt, although everyone knew this would be THE stage where the break could be successful. And no-one even close to the front, risking to lose a GC Top 15 - and obviously not having a shot at a stage result.
Well, hopefully we'll do better again on day 3, would be another cool finish for Schmid.
Congrats to Grieg, although an ELCO stage win would also have been nice.

2nd is good but that time gap given is very annoying (and also quite surprising) to me. Costs us the yellow jersey for now which id really love to have before the final stage which looks unlikely to happen now.
Congrats jandal tho, love to see you having some success here!

All is well that ends well, I guess. Got really worried seeing the picture where Wirtgen and Valter were slightly ahead, as there was no Amezawa in sight, but wow, what a final few hundred meters by him. Happy to see him land a top 5, although it looks like everything GC top 14 related will come down to the final day, seeing the small gaps.
Areruya taking advantage of great positioning and even running away with 7 seconds, is huge for Xero. Are they back in contention for promotion!? |

Good start here for Olivier against some of the big guys.
Seeing my others leaders not performing lately, I need a lot of points here.
Must hope that in especially day 6 but also day 4 will play out quite hard for the pure puncheurs. |

Certainly a luxury to have a guy like Pidcock as a leadout and he really set up a very well-taken win from Areruya - and definitely love to see the yellow jersey too, despite feeling a bit bad that that was given as a gap - I would be a bit annoyed in knockout's position but I'm sure Lopez can find three seconds somewhere
Tomorrow could be interesting, probably will end up with GC splits but would love a fairly chilled couple of days to pick up some extra yellow jersey points (and maybe for Pidcock to chase stages) before the showdown on Stage 6. Not expecting the GC win, but god would it be amazing if Areruya could pull it off. Long way to go yet in a stacked field!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Nothing spectacular from Formolo so far, but he has a good position in the GC and that's what matters. Guess everything will be decided in the last stage.

Waiting for that Wilco masterclass as he wins from the breakaway with 5 minutes gap

As long as Kinoshita keeps his nose near the front for now I'm happy.

Shame Lutsenko didn't have the best legs in that uphill sprint. Really should've capitalised on his good form in stage 2.

Hmm... another lost opportunity for Schmid, looks like he's just too strong for breakaways but still too weak for GC. But as long as Masnada consistently finishes in the front group, I'm fine - Top 15 is looking pretty realistic if he doesn't do some stupid positioning mistakes.
Congrats to jandal for the stage win, Areruya getting at least one had to be expected I guess. Weird to see a gap given here - I agree it was one, but in like 90% of similar situations there's none, so sucks for those behind.
Areruya must be the big favourite now, as the final stage should suit him more than anyone else. MAL probably has to strike back on S4 and get yellow - but we'll see, one bad day by a top rider and everything is wide open again.
Thanks for the report!

Good effort from Wilco to say the least.
Congrats to the winner and thanks for the report.
