Nice to see both Gesbert and Faglum Karlsson high up, even though Gesbert’s attack was a bit mistimed, perhaps. Still, really nice to take the GC lead, which we should be able to keep for a few stages
Looking forward to see what Gibbons can do in the sprints!

I guess we'll have to be happy to have one rider in the front group, looking at the bad luck of other teams...
Masnada did just what he needed to do, hanging on, and getting a Top 10 finish. Was hoping for something even better, but it's definitely good to see him (seemingly) caring about the GC.
On the other hand, Errazkin was disappointing once again; guess he'd just need 1-2 hill stats more to be competitive. Well, maybe he'll join some breakaways later on then. But now, let's focus on Dylan Page for the two sprint stages.
Congrats to Xero on a convincing stage win - 3 more to come?
Thanks for the report!

As i feared with that finish this is one for the hybrids. Boswell wasted some energy on the attacks but it was probably his only hope.
First chance for Boiven to sprint for himself coming up. That is a pretty frail reed.
Congrats to Areruya and Jandal, beautifully timed finish.

No breakaway = bad
Keeping 5 dudes in the front group and potentially makin BANK from depth points = good
Looks like we'll have to rely on Losch to score stage points

That was extremely disappointing. After a great stage 1 we are now on the back foot after stage 2. Not the start we wanted. We will do our best to come back though. To me Bobridge has underperformed all year so waiting to see when and if he will improve

Really good start from Meintjes, that's what I like to see. He's in a strong position to push for a podium finish now. Slightly disappointed that Tesfatsion wasn't able to stay with the lead group, but that's alright. Looking forward to the next hilly stages!

Nice stuff from Boivin, well positioned throughout and showed the Canadian NC jersey off nicely - pity he couldn't outsprint Meurisse. Congrats to WJ.

Awful racing by Page, guess he didn't watch the Giro stage to see how it's properly done. One more chance remaining...
Congrats to WJ, definitely a very surprising sprint winner here!
Thanks for the report.

Yates on the podium is great, didn’t expect that kind of carnage in the first proper hill stage.
Weird we were on the front , we have no riders that should be capable of making a train - and I guess that became obvious Nur Hasan holding in for 3rd is awesome though after going so early! Congrats WJ, Xandro is in good form

Stages 3 and 4 are some of the weird I've ever seen in PCM, but it makes me excited for what's to come (which I don't know myself even yet).
Personally, a 5th place from Trillini and some mid-race KOM points are more than I expected here so it's already a victory although I'm not happy with S4.
Meurisse really on fire across the board these last few days! Congrats wj!

Couldn’t have been much worse, stupid sprint AI. We don’t have another rider with a sprint stat in the 70’s and the game’s got us trying to create lead-outs two straight stages. Nur Hasan did really well considering the burden, but it’s frustrating.
Congrats again WJ, Meurisse too good. Thank you Sean for the report!

Just woke up after New Year's Eve and had to check I wasnt seeing double, WTF?
Two of the weirder sprints I have seen in a bit, can understand if some managers a left with a sour taste but maybe it explains why he lost time on the second stage? IDK.
3 wins in 3 days, if we count Badaling, from Xandro, absolute beast mode he is on atm. Now I guess it''s time to see if the points jersey is something that we can bring with us out of this race but I think that Arerurya will pick up three good stage results back to back here!
Thanks for the great reports Sean!

Not such good stuff from Boivin. Not sure what it is about certain stages where they don't let a break go. But always ends in a messy sprint.
I do think if you have a top three sprinter not having a sprint train can be as bad as having one but hard to know if you will be the top sprinter in a race like this. Nobody had a full lead out. The game structure encourages everyone to send their second tier riders with little support which can't help with the AI's issues.
I don't love it that sprints in relatively prestigious races like this and Colombia go to second tier guys because it isn't worth the race day cost to send a top sprinter. Which also results in the top sprinters all going to the same races. Maybe we could use the GT point scales to bring the points jersey into play to encourage more focus on the sprints in races like this.
Thanks for the reports Sean.

Much better from Page, netting his first points of the year. Obviously not perfect, as the win was clearly on the table - but 4th place is a decent result in an uphill sprint.
However, I've got absolutely no clue how a 71 sprinter can beat guys that are 7-8 stat points higher twice in a row... Agree with others, some of the weirdest sprints I've seen this year.
Congrats nonetheless to WJ, guess that makes up for some of the bad luck you've had so far this year
Thanks for the report, sean!

For a second there I thought that Xandro was coming from behind to snatch a hattrick! Really nice stage for Gustav's boys and important to at least gain a few more points on Arerurya.
A bit perculiar that there were no gaps created but I fear we might not see the gaps at the front come before the last stage as those profiles tend to a lot of work. Looking forward to the last few stages!
Thanks for another great report Sean!

A whole lot of (almost) nothingness so far for us from this race. Last two stages better turn this around or this would be three Benoot failures in a row!
Congrats to WJ on the back to back and to Gustav on the 1-2! Wonder if we'll ever see such luck in any race ever
Thanks for the reports Sean.

Congrats Gustav! Stannard and Guerrerio are both such cool riders, awesome to see them get a 1-2 here. Areruya still sniffing around and waiting for his moment to blow the race apart.
Happy with Yates so far, but still two very important stages to go. Hopefully he can hang on and secure himself at least a top 10 come the end of the race.
Thanks for another great report Sean! Great to see you getting involved

Thanks for all the superb reports so far, seancoll. And also congratulations to the stage winners so far.
Higuita doing okay so far, but everything will depend on the next two stages. Hopefully we can make them hard enough so Higuita is able to gap most of the riders. Osorio doing great so far as well, but if everything goes right for us, he could start losing a lot of time from the next stage.
