Close but no cigar on stage 3. Two podium places and keeping the green jersey is very nice again though. Krieger winning is okay for us, he simply was better today. At least not a breakaway again.

Congrats to Noutisgood, making it 3 first wins for new teams in a row. So who'll be next? Saeco, Adidas or Simba?

Love to see Munoz finishing sixth! Seems like Chiarello took a first step towards winning the GC. Congratulations on all stage winners so far, and thanks for the nice reports to lief as well

Great start from Chiarello Hopefully we can see his Brazilian NC shirt in the DB shortly.
Now I'm very curious how we will handle the defense of the leader's jersey. Can't wait!

Rochas, Itturia and Tatarinov are still here, which is good, though maybe a bit low. Short and steep isn't our strength though, so we'll see how it fares.
Thanks for the report! Can't wait for the next days.

Berhane doing what he was signed for. Also nice to see young Axel Laurance getting some mountain points. So far a good stage race for us!

Nice breakaways, and O'Connor & Canty were in that main group. All setting up nicely so far.

Great win by Chiarello, winning at the first realistic occasion of the year! Good job by Berhane as well to get 2nd, given that he isn't exactly an explosive rider - but I guess the final uphill was just long enough to make pure climbing skills more important than having some punch.
And a strong start by APP as well, will be interesting to see how he does in the high mountains. I still have the feeling he should've gone to Hong Kong instead, but so far it's looking good for him as well
Thanks for another great report, lief!

Congrats to Laurens for the win, Chiarello lives up to his favourite role. APP getting 3rd after attacking is a good result, hopefully he's able to keep this up. In any case the exciting part of the race (at least for us) is finally on.
Thanks to lief for his reports!

Forming a sprint train is easy... NOT! What are my guys doing? Sprinting away with 600m to go instead of making a smart train and leadout? Come on guys!

Thought that Marin might grab the win there, but a fantastic race from Kreiger. Amazing to see how late the breakaway consumption is happening.
Thanks lief for the reports!

Krieger still is a beast, congrats to Hilcona!
@Blasing, I guess one of the issues of your train is that Boudat has stronger acceleration than Degenkolb. So John isn't able to follow once his leadout accelerates, and uses up a lot of energy to close the gap (and he doesn't have a lot of energy anyway, looking at his stats). It's a pretty well-known issue with sprint trains by now, sorry you had to learn it the hard way. But I think when he doesn't get a train, he can still do well even at a higher level, as shown in DUC.

Could somebody confirm that the rights images are showing up in the reports? I've double and triple-checked that those uploaded for Stage 5 are the right ones but when I load the report it shows me the images for the previous stage... hopefully just an issue on my end though. |

Yup they look right to me. I have struggled with this. I think the browser caches the images so if you change the images after you preview/post it won't pick up the new images when you view.

Solid stage by the team, and Mikkel and Domenic particularly.
Now we have to be even better in the mountains. Not sure if you should try to challenge Chiarello, but the goal has to be to let Crabbe and Gjensidige work alone.
A podium seems possible, but I see a great battle with Caja Rural for that and the team classification, and of course, much can happen with three days of high mountains.
Thanks for the report, I'm looking forward to what happens next.
