Very, very close TTT! Happy to be among the best, and at the same time it’s kind of bittersweet to be so close to the win.
Now it’s all about trying to survive as good as possible on the next two hilly stages, giving us a chance to add GC depth points in the final TT. |

Very happy with the TTT performance. Not so much that Würtz suffered the last man in effect and lost some seconds, but hopefully not more than it's possible to recover. Now let's see how the hilly stages play out. At least I like the look of APP so far in this race.

15th out of 22 is nothing spectacular, but was to be expected when half of your team is already happy when they can just follow Zmorka's wheel Thanks for the great report and artsy pic, Ulrich!

Not too shabby. Our riders tried going faster than they had abilities to, but kept Spanopoulos and Koretzky with the team. A bit annoying to see Ioannidis and Kiriakidis always losing seconds as the best timetriallers of the team - and fairly well rounded riders I'd say, but in the greater picture those seconds mean nothing.
Congrats Vesuvio for a very nice win, that gives a huge amount of points, on top of making Wirtgen one of the top heavy favorites for the win, if he wasn't already.
Farantakis with another day in the green jersey of course, adding a few extra points is very welcome. Now to see if we can somehow get lucky and build some momentum from Spanopoulos, Ioannidis or Kiriakidis. If not it's all up to Koretzky to get stage succes, as we don't see any way of him getting a decent GC regardless of how the stages pan out.
Thanks for the report, and the many beautyful screenshots of the teams.

That certainly was a team time trial.

Second to last is about right Now let's be aggressive in the next two stages!

Very happy with that TTT. We couldn't expect a result, but we stayed in the pack time wise and even gained on over half the other teams. That's a win in my book looking at the preview.
Kamna's in the best spot we could have hoped now. Big stakes in the next few stages.

This was most likely our worst result ever, since we decided to start targeting this discipline. A low-end final result seems to be on the cards yet again for us. This month has been a tragedy for us.
At least the report was stunning, thanks Ulrich.
And congrats on a great win, SN!

An anonymous opening stage which is fine given the squad we have here.
Not our greatest TTT but a pretty solid effort with how strong other teams are.
And then a magnificent performance from Conci on Stage 3 to take 3rd in the hills with this field Hopefully he can produce a similar performance tomorrow on a more selective stage and then he’s in a great position for the final stage TT. Cosnefroy also holding onto that group would be insane for the final stage if he can do the same tomorrow too!
Thank you for the reports so far! An action packed stage and a miracle the final group was as large as it was. Bobridge too strong and Koretzky still doing his thing.

Not a good day for us, but could have been a lot worse. Kamna had very bad legs apparently, but just managed to get back to the group in the end and stave off disaster. Hopefully this was his off day. Meanwhile, Jensen's breakaway bid was always a stupid move on this terrain with it being the first hilly stage. Could have gotten a stage result if he'd stayed behind I bet, but whatever.

Strong start to the race, with a good first stage from Hayter and then a creditable performance from the TTT. My only problem is that its looking like Fraile may not be strong enough to hold on to the favourites unlike some other time triallists which sucks a little if we are to lose time on stage 4.

Great to have three guys in that front group. The stage tomorrow probably looks a tad more selective, but hopefully we can at least keep it together until the hill with ~ 10k to go.

The way Keizer is struggling so hard to stay in the peloton/first group on a stage like this and loses over a minute in the end, only to see riders (way) worse than him easily hold on is a shame, and not for the first time this season.
Congratulations to Gustav on a nice win and thanks Ulrich for a clear and detailed report

Hmm this was a very hard-bought 2nd place for Koretzky who isn't going to be a threat in any case. Losing 2 minutes for Spanopoulos, Kiriakidis and Ioannidis is likely going to hurt more than Koretzky gained, so while stagesucces from Farantakis and Koretzky is added here and now - It's unlikely to be a good long term scenario for us.
I guess we have to just follow the path now and see if we can get Koretzky a win tomorrow, because those 2 minutes lost can't be gained in the TT unfortunately. Seeing who was in that front group it feels very sour to have all 3 GC prospects kill themselves. Bad management I guess...

Some surprising riders struggling, be it Keizer all the way, which you can at least somewhat see due to his hill stat (I still feel for LPH), or the likes of Foss and Fraile, even Borges at one point. Though given the latter's strong finish, that was perhaps more positioning than anything else. Congrats Gustavovsky on a very strong Bobridge performance.
We were indeed in the breakaway, though Lauk is not the ideal rider for that. Hopefully Uwi or Hadi make it on the next one. Very surprised and impressed though with El Sabbahi. No idea what he had for breakfast that he managed to hang on until the very end. We get nothing from that, of course, but still.

A few scary moments but the important riders made it to the front group. Another survival act tomorrow and we're golden

Big relief to see Foss and Vangstad able to come back. Lammertink was the bonus. Though, seeing how we struggled here, I really fear for tomorrow’s stage, as it looks a lot more difficult compared to this one. Fear we will loose a lot with all our GC riders, but hopefully one of them can have a great day and limit the losses well.
Congratulations on the stage, Gustav! |

So close to the win, I wonder if Borges was actually spent is just positioned badly? Dunbar through safe is all that matters. We’re going to need some serious time gaps to distance the big TT riders tomorrow - hopefully a hard race.
Thanks for the reports!

It's a great feeling to be back to winning ways, especially when it comes at such long hiatuses. It feels like a pyrrhic victory though, without those desperately needed gaps. There's still one day to distance riders like Wurtz though, let's see if it brings any good news.
Thanks for all the congrats guys!

Crazy how much stronger the TT squads are here than in Lithuania. I think mine could've done a bit better but not a lot of time was lost. It's good to see Mano alert in the first hilly stage. Since the rest of the team lost time, all hope is on him. Another good 4th stage and a decent GC placing can be expected! |
