Congrats on completing the team. Appreciate that you took the time to pull in the Basque flags. I am a big fan of teams with a commitment to their core nations.
Good luck with the season.

Interesting core team for sure, while I don't think that you're going to be battling it out for promotion you'll have a very strong core to push with next season! Love the regional focus in the recruiting as well!

Agree with the comments above. Promotion itself looks unlikely, but an amazing commitment to the regional identity, wonderful. Insausti at 50k is superb I think. Also Berthet and Lazkano as great regional talents. Good luck during your first season and with the race planning coming soon

Looks like a promising team, though you could have focussed just a little bit more on basque riders for my taste
Will be interesting to race with and against your team!

Happy to see my former riders Aberasturi & Insausti find there ways to a home team. Rochas is a good pick-up, and i love taking a shot on Guerao! Promotion might be tough, but in the CT never say never. It's year 1 and a clear direction for the project, best of luck.

I have to say, this is a very impressive built, and I think you have a very good shot at promotion!
To create such a setup with almost entirely french/spanish riders (4 basque even) is really well done!
Obviously I’ll be following a bit from the sideline as I never got to experience Rochas as a maxed rider, but he was pretty good for me at PT as unmaxed so I think you are in for a treat :-)

Agree with Sotd. Very impressive setup for a new team, and especially given your commitment to a regional focus. Good combination of youth and veterans too.
Good luck this season!

Impressive setup with so many French and Basque riders signed. You'll probably be relying more on depth with no real top end leaders.

The RES stats in this team have my seal of approval, great instincts for a new manager A great kind of team to have which can be competitive in every single race, it's very fun to manage and watch in the regular season - it's how I used to be before I started paying primadonnas too much money and having to sell them

Well, I intended to do the whole team presentation, goals and so on but that'll wait some more days. But I've got time to answer to all your kind words, yip yip.

When I'm given a nice looking flag, I use it!

Thanks, we'll have to see if I didn't mess everything with the planning, that was a hard learning moment.
But, well, no pressure.

Thanks! Promotion was never a goal anyway. Learning how the game works (both man and PCM, I've mostly played one-rider-mode-I've-forgotten the name) and how I can put time into the game is good enough.
Next goal : find a french basque rider.

It's not that I haven't tried. Would have loved to find a south-west french rider though, but they all seem to come from the Alps or Britanny.

A basque sprinting team, isn't that good? x)
I just have to hope that Guerao will repeat his nice Olympic race, but if he doesn't, he was cheap anyway.

Thanks for the selling! (My very first buy of the game).
I probably fucked up his planning a bit, but I'm sure he'll be a great representative of the team.
Fans will love him.

Thanks to all of you. Happily, these were not the hardest cycling countries to find, and even with a few new french team, there was enough riders for everyone (even though the good talents were a biiiiit expensive).
We're going to make a ton of publicity for a new Bordeaux-Bilbao train!

I've had to verify the meaning of primadonna to be sure to understand (even though it's quite transparent), what I found while looking was... interesting.
Anyway, the good side of having an public institution who pulls the money, is that there is never too much money. |

This is it! Season is on, the first race is raced. But before that, let's go back in time to see what has been missed :
Team
The team has been completed! One loanee, some youngsters and CT draft later, it can be found here.
Goals
Goals! Yes, we have goals! Very ambitious ones because somebody must have fucked with the calculations AND because people in charge of calendar and people in charge of recruitement didn't talk to each other, but well, here they are;
| C2 Clasico San Jose | Win | | C2 Volta a Catalunya | Win | | C1 Vuelta al Pais Vasco | Stage win | | C2 Zuri Metzget | Win | | CT Team Standings | Top 10 |
Complete race schedule can be found here
And yes, 3 of our 4 race goals are within the three first months of the year.

And now january is on, with our first ever race in Gisborne, New Zealand. Quite difficult to go there by train, but it is said that Euskotren is launching negociations.

The race wasn't on our best terrain, and we came here for a warm up and showing the jersey. Nils Brun and Alexis Renard did just that, by going into the breakaway, while Wackermann managed to stay in the chasing group to grab a good 7th place. Nice work by the team.

February is here ! Some exciting race days to come, as we're back in Spain, but before that, let's see how the end of January went.

Comments
Our first stage race, and quite hard to analyze. All in all, the final GC result and lack of good mountain results must be disappointing, and for a race with all our leaders, the points counter is not that good. But Guerao, with two podium and one day in yellow, has showed good performances, as well as Armirail in general and Mottin in the TT. The 6th place is not that bad either, and we're not far from the 5th, nor from the 3rd in team standings.

Comments
Well, at least we tried things. Renard, one of our youngsters, was in the breakaway, and Doubey and Wackerman went on an audacious attack with 60 km to go! That's some french (and italian) panache ! But that caused Rodriguez to be dropped due to bad positionning, and the final result is a very disappointing zero pointer.

Expectations
Not much. Insausti is our main cobbler, and he could have a fairly good result if their’s an arrival between specialists, though he can’t sprint. In a bunched sprint, we’ll hope for a good enough performance of Sarreau or Wackermann to bring us some points.

Expectations
Woouh ! Team goal ! In Spain ! Near the french border !
Well, winning seems unlikely, due to some TTT weaknesses, but we’ll settle to a better GC than in Tachira. The climbing team will be dedicated to Mikkel Itturia, while we hope some breakaway appearance for our youngsters, and maybe even Armirail, who showed good spirit in Tachira.
