Groenewegen`s 5th is pretty good here. Losing big points on EA with VdL in 2nd though isn`t ideal from a ranking view though.
From the screenshots I had expected VdL to drop further with Groenewegen in the perfect position but the tough finish must have exhausted him a lot more than others, which is fair on this terrain.
Thanks for the report and congrats on another big Degenkolb win.
Very nice. Good to see Eislers delivering here. Left a bit alone by the rest of the team but had good positioning and converted it very nicely to a podium finish. Love it.
That Top10 finish by Reinhardt is definitely a job well done. Couldn't be expected given the competition, but for once he played it smart and got a good wheel. He didn't quite have what it takes to finish even stronger, but that's OK given his stats.
Stocker did some good work as well, happy to spot his NC jersey close to the front on one screenshot. Bad news is that the rest of the team didn't care at all, so no depth points - but that 9th place is worth more points than expected anyway.
Thanks for yet another report, LLS, and big congrats to Degenkolb!
Well done by Yzeiraj to be among those riders trying their luck on the final kilometers. He lacks the quality to make it stick compared to Wisniowski and Nych, but cool to see him try to mix it.
A 20th place by him and five riders in the first group is also good considering the team we had here. A low-scoring race for us, but that had to be expected. No complaints!
Big win for Scorchio and Degenkolb, and another great result for them this season. Congratulations!
Thanks for the congrats guys, and of course to LLS for yet another report - you seem to be a busy chap at the moment!
This was the sort of team performance I was expecting at the recent SAA Tour d'Afrique that never materialised. ISA - Hexacta prevalent in controlling the BotD, present in numbers when the bunch split, and helping bring back late attackers for Degenkolb to then deliver the icing on the cake with the race victory. Pretty much textbook stuff!
Overall a top-10 that also makes reasonable sense to me, although of course there is not space for every potential contender. At least no 'randoms' featuring when came down to a bunch sprint at least on this outing. The late attackers had a good go; Wisniowski had me worried when reading through the report, but not to be for him on this day.
That takes Degenkolb up over 1100 points for the season with still some racing to go for him. Not as much points scoring as last year, but that was a stand-out with victories at f.e. Milan San-Remo boosting his 2020 season tally. The arrival of Gavira in the division also hoovers up a lot of additional points that Degenkolb might have had a chance at last season - not going to finish top sprinter in PT rankings this season for sure, and that crown was always going to settle on Gavira's head once he signed for Isostar. Results like here in Paris - Tours ensure has been a worthwhile season from Degenkolb and his sprint support crew, even with somewhat inflated wages for him on the back of last seasons highs.
