Volcanica – Fox proudly presents the first riders joining our team for the upcoming season. We begin our introductions with 5 cyclists from our home nation, either returning to their stomping ground or looking to hone their skills with us. We would like to extend our warmest welcome to all of them!

Andrei Amador needs no introduction. The Costa Rican National TT Champion joins our squad after his contract with Team UBS was not extended following a shift in needs of his former team.
One of the notable absences is long-term team captain Andrei Amador. We mutually decided to part ways as his role is shifting at this point in his career and does not align with what our team needs. I want to thank Andrei for his years of leadership and for being the centerpiece of our team, we will really have to make an effort to redefine ourselves without him present. TEAM UBS
We embrace Andrei Amador’s arrival with excitement and we are certain he will ride hard, his experience and leadership will be a great inspiration for the younger riders within our team and he’ll help our club firmly establish its philosophy.

Another experienced rider, Pablo Mudarra, returns home after a transfer deal worth 200,000 was made with MOL. A hill specialist he would line up in the races that suit his skills while also trying to impart his road racing knowledge with our young developing cyclists.

In the off-season Gabriel Marin couldn’t agree on a contract extension with Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team, after spending 2020 on loan at Swisslion Cycling Team, therefore our team jumped, successfully, on the chance of repatriating him. He brings his speed to our squad and at 27 years old Volcanica – Fox hopes that he would lead the team to glory in the following years in as many races as possible.

Kevin Rivera started his professional career with Azteca – NBCSN. However, with the sad disbandment of the team between the seasons he found himself a free agent. Although the disappearance of such a team is regretful Volcanica – Fox is delighted to have had the opportunity of obtaining the signature of an extremely talented rider from our country. Kevin Rivera is still learning, but the team will do its best to provide the proper medium for his development and to transform his potential into certainty. There is much hope around the training grounds and within the team that Kevin Rivera would be a name easily recognizable in the MG cycling world.

John Jimenez Retana is the team’s first neo-pro. Volcanica – Fox sees the 22 years old as another young rider with a bright future. The management and coaches will provide John Jimenez Retana with the guidance and means for his dreams to come true and hopefully both he and the team would benefit from his development in the years to come.

Good luck with Gabriel Marin, he wanted to much in renewals and we hoped to be able to pick him up in FA. You simply wanted him more, and we never got the chance to enjoy him as 4.100 rider. He was property of Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team, and Swisslion Cycling Team only borrowed him last year

It's just a shame that Rivera lost one development step with Azteca's disband, else he'd have an even greater future!

When UBS didn`t renew Amador, I kind of hoped, he would land in the new home team.
Nice you made this on a pretty fair wage even and alongside were able to add lots of other strong Costa Ricans as well some of their talents. |

Agree with everything above, picking up a nice group of Costa Ricans who all bring something to the table. Amador is such a natural fit.

That's a perfect start, similar to the other guys I was rooting for you to grab the core of Costa Rican cycling, and it will see you contend decently well right out of the gate too!
Let's just hope your team avoids the fate of recent outfits from that nation and region and can become a household name over time.
