Great start for Herklotz. Will he hold the pink jersey all the way now? Certainly a fair possibility.
Pretty decent start for Iturria. Nesset a bit worse, but most likely it means nothing in the end. Hope to see my guys in the breaks now!

Bad luck that Herklotz is here as well being the obvious favourite.
Otherwise Oomen really could have delivered you some big points here. |

23 seconds are fine to Herklotz, much less time to Gesink and Spilak. A good first day for the podium hopes i want to believe

What the fuck is Majka doing in 17th
This will be our weakest GT this year, with Aru "leading" the team. Van Poppel seems to be our best hope for points here in the sprints or a fluke breakaway win from Aru, which I don't really see happening.
Some interesting names at the start here which give me hope for a good Tour de France from Dombrowski

Grand Tour stage #22, Grand Tour stage win #7.
If we do dare to dissect this, it was 84mo78prl against 84mo76prl and 82mo79prl, and I believe the stage was just long enough to not reach the effort levels required to involve hill in the equation anymore.
The fact that Spilak and Gesink got beaten by other - and clearly weaker - riders like Henao (??) and Hirt too is a different thing altogether, but just based on the likely relevant stats of the big 3, I did have high hopes for day one to play out somewhat like this.
I hope the flat stage indicator for stages 2 and 3 means the sprinter teams take some chasing responsibility so we can afford to get away with less effort while maintaining the maglia rosa, and I'm especially curious to see what tomorrow's climbs do to the peloton and the sprinters, none of which are particularly comfortable on inclines.
With the standard leader positioning usually being right behind the sprint trains, Herklotz might make the Top 15 in the sprint tomorrow and grab some important points to remain in the ciclamino outright for another day and keep Swift in check early if he manages to use the slipstream well.
With Gesink exactly 8 seconds behind, we also have to ensure to finish high on those two stages to have the better sum of stage placings going into the stage 4 hilltop finish, in case Gesink wins that ahead of Silvio and they end up on s.t. in the GC going into the important test on stage 6.

Really weird result that I'm not sure what to ascribe to except for very high daily forms for some of the top riders. It was obviously crucial to keep Herklotz away from the jersey as long as possible so it's very anticlimatic that it, well, didn't quite happen
With that being said, this is probably going to just end up being a minor disappointment in the scheme of things if Gesink can really get it rolling during the first 10 days. Looking forward to see how this develops - thanks roturn and congrats cio!

Quite a statement from Herklotz, no fooling around! Congratulations on a dominant prologue win, cio!
Now let's move on to the real business Really excited for the flat stages to come and Swift's chances. There should be at least four good opportunities in the next ten stages, and if the hillyish flat stages are raced passive, we could even hope for six good chances in the next ten days. This is hopefully were Swift steps up and proves himself as the sprinter he should be, especially now that there's quite a gap to the next sprinter. Judging by the general forum talks regarding the AI and sprints, I'm hoping that will make it easier for the AI to handle the top favourite(s).
We shall see, and thank you for getting this rolling, roturn |

Another perfect stage for us.
Nobody had to spend energy, the win goes to a wildcard team (congrats Valio! even though their manager sadly might not read this), second place goes to Kemboi who shouldn't be relevant in the ciclamino fight, and Herklotz only loses 7 points to Swift while gaining very important 9 points on both Spilak and Gesink.
Wackermann as the ideal protector for this stage getting a rankings point is great too.
I would certainly enjoy another weird sprint tomorrow, Swift likely has to win to get the jersey if Herklotz can Top 15 again, which has to be the goal. With that being said, the stage leading up to it would ideally be very standard.

+ PCT teams stealing the win, congrats Atlantius!
+ Oomen still in white tomorrow
- Dall'Oste not in the break
- Gaviria's positioning
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

2 in the top10 as 6th and 9th is kind of nice.
Vesely not one of them not ideal.
Seeing my ridicoulous team not ideal at all. As said before, really haven`t expected Vesely being a top3-4 sprinter here on paper and now he has no good support but Sbaragli. |

Well this wasn't your typical pancake but it only reinforces that I'm sure glad I've never invested in sprinters in general
Quiet stage all in all and I'm hoping the same will go for tomorrow's sprint, thanks roturn!

Well, that was weird. Huge win for Matti Manninen though, congrats to Valio!
A pity that Bertilsson got dropped, cause this was surely a sprint he could do well in given the outcome. A good stage for us nevertheless with Vink snatching some KoM points. More of that, please!

Alarcon in the Top15 is a good sign, with Basso right ahead of him. A few points for the Ciclamino, that can always be interesting at the end of the race

Stauff drops, surely Ackermann gives it a shot! How about no?!
I must admit that I hate this game, and it is draining every single piece of interest I have in the Man-Game - unfortunately. And probably my negativism, affects the rest of you aswell, so I have decided to give myself a pause from the game, while I decide whether or not to continue in the future.
Thanks for the effort put in the game guys!

It would be a catastrophic loss for the game (and me personally) to see you go. I understand your situation though, and I hope the pause helps your state of mind and you will return to great results (and maybe even a change of game)!
From personal experience, taking breaks has been a vital part of remaining invested in the game long-term, may the same apply to you.

Thanks for the reporting effort.
And of course the one guy only here for XP is the one going into the break. Yay.

I feel you. My own motivation is as low as never before and i also attribute it to this game version which doesnt seem to work well (or at least not in a way that i can appreciate) with the DB in the areas that matter the most to me.
Hope you come back with newly found energy & motivation!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
