Not ideal sprints for Guilly B so far, it's up to Faiers to perform well tomorrow!

Nibbles!!!
I can't say I saw that one coming but what a perfect stage from the team. The double threat has worked perfectly for us here and I can have no complaints for Nibali or Borisaljevic!
I'm very glad that the game hasn't protected Moser as GC leader and has allowed Nibali and the Climbers to do their work.
In one stage: Nibali takes over from Moser in the GC lead, Borisavljevic takes over from Jakobsen in the U25s and moves to 4th in the GC, Nibali takes the lead in the KOM and Moser takes the lead in the Points with Nibbles in 3rd.
If we somehow keep this up, we're in for a lot of points being scored here!

Faiers with a decent performance just surprised that the no acc climbers beat him but that's what it is. Also nice to see that riders like Gaspar has an impact on the race.

Reasonable ride from our team, wish some of our other climbers could have lasted longer, but Mannion in the top 10 works.

That is not a good ride from Tibo! We need good legs on these 2 mountain stages and it leaves him with a lot of work to play catch up... Well done LLS on the double and I stand to be amazed with Faiers... was not looking at the Brit a mistake from the GCN management?
Thanks for the report tamijo

Really nice to see Krieger perform that well so far this season.
Great run in classic and Langkawi so far with a rare win from him as well now. Really brilliant.
Off for a great season it seems and maybe his best ever point wise by a first sign. |

Disappointing from Moser but 6th isn't too awful. Slightly annoying because we're one of the only teams to have any sort of train.
Looks like the team was a bit of a shambles today though because Jakobsen should be in the lead-out train, not Borisavljevic. Jakobsen should also not be working as our main domestique when Fernandez, Robert and Conci are present and better suited.
The positive sign is that we're still 1st and 4th in the GC although this will definitely be tested tomorrow. Moser still leads the Points classification although he'll be in for a fight on Stage 6 and 7.
Really looking forward to what will, no doubt, be a challenging stage 5! Longer climbs although not at steep as stage 3 so it should be interesting viewing. I struggle to see Nibali protecting the GC lead but with Conci, Fernandez and Borisavljevic he has the support to give it a try!

I got excited Von Hoff was going to take that one for a second He is looking good and could still take a stage win with 2 more flat stages to go!
Also hoping Campero can perform better in the mountains as we progress forward.
Great report and congrats to the winner!

Well, that's really a race to forget so far. Guillén can't get a better train than this, and finishing on P12 then is just a shame. Seems like physical stats matter more in PCM18, good to know for next year. The climbers are constantly beaten by weaker competition, too - really not the start we were hoping for.
Even though I don't understand how he did this, congrats to the winner. And thanks for the report.

The team needs a good showing in the next stage, or else we might have difficulties later

Not surprising to see Nibali struggle a bit there. Finishing 6th on the stage and slipping to 5th in the GC is still a very respectable result which wouldn't have been expected pre-race. He's scored me a lot of GC leader points, along with his stage win.
The most disappointing part of that stage was Borisavljevic finishing in the same group as Granjel Cabrera and being dropped so early. If he held on then he would have been able to provide better support to Nibbles. He still maintains 11th in the GC and the lead in the Youth classification so that's still a good result for him.
With 2 stages to go, it is hard to see any significant changes in the GC but I would definitely love to see Moser win the Points classification. I'm hoping the team can conserve some energy in the chase and work for Moser who should be capable of another win here before the race is done.

Well if Kwiat is to race long stage races he's got to win them... good effort to that end here

That is more like it for Tibo but he gave himself far too much to do on this stage. 4th on GC is disappointing but respectable given where he was pre-stage.
Vinhas in the Top 10 as well so good point from that. Should hold the team classification to the end with any hope
Well done netia on the win and thanks for the report
