No energy left to sprint nearly five minutes down for the next group and Lagab, in fact, manages to lunge in ahead of Daniel and Kamyshev for 7th. A great ride by the Algerian and a deserved top 10 finish. Daniel and Kamyshev won't be too displeased, neither will Altur rounding out the top 10, Nolf in 11th or De Vreese in a great 13th. However Trentin in 12th would have surely liked to be in the top 5, let alone top 10.

The day's biggest disappointment though, bar maybe Bewley, is surely Florian Senechal who can't even make the top 15 and is beaten by Gerts and Wisniowski. The Pole looked quite strong today after spending most of the last 40km in the wind and it could have been quite a different race if he was in the Tiaaenberg selection as he was about to be before his horribly-timed puncture.
