3rd place is still nice, you beat Hoy anyway
and I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but it's "David Daniell", just the 1 'n'. Just to confirm that I double checked the BC website

how do you have all those riders like Kenny?
Although you cant edit Track rider's stats in the DB editor that comes with the game, you can still change their names, DoB, and Nationality (The Nationality defines the kit which the rider wears - so make a rider American, and he will wear the American kit)

Myself, Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny have flown out to Los Angeles for the Track World Cup being held here.
Here is the draw for the sprint. Ive got Chiappa first and Im just taking it one step at a time, see whether my sprinting legs are returning:

And the Keirin sees us 3 Brits in the same Semi. A good chance for teamwork I predict. Theo Bos surprisingly failed to make it through the repechages after crashing into Azizulhasni Awang of Malaysia

So first up was the Keirin and the whole British team were in the first semi final. Here is how things look as the pace hits 'very fast' with a lap to go.

Having past Nimke and dropped Hoy, my sights turn to the 3 riders now ahead of me. This is the Track World Cup so there is only one leg. First 3 to the line are in the final.

Ive got myself in front in the final turn but any 3 of the 6 could still qualify!

Kenny and Sireau look out of it now in the charge towards the line

Its a very tight finish - perhaps a little too close, but Ive made it through in 3rd. Incredibly Chris Hoy has won having looked out of it with half a lap to go. Blatchford failed to make it through, to the disappointment of the American crowd.

Later that day
Having recharged by batteries after the morning's efforts its time for the final. Myself, Hoy, Nimke, Mulder, Chiappa and Bauge.

Nimke leads with a lap to go, Ive got myself well placed in 3rd

Mulder takes the inside line and I go wide - perhaps too far wide?

Im into the lead now but Mulder still holds the sprinters line

Damn. These Dutch are getting really annoying in the Keirin

So 3rd in the Revolution Keirin, 2nd in the LA Keirin - surely a victory beckons in the Copenhagen World Cup? Top priority now though is a good night's rest ahead of the Sprint event tomorrow.

Its the day of the sprint! My first (and hopefully not my only) opponent of the day is Roberto Chiappa.
Leg 1
I set a slow pace and had Chiappa right up by the barriers with a lap and a half to go

I made my pounce and got a gap which Chiappa could not get back. Leg 1 to me.

Leg 2
2 laps to go and Chiappa has caught me out, he has got a good gap

I catch hi up quickly but at what cost?

Well, the cost is that I cant get out of his wheel. Its one leg all!

Leg 3
A perfect positon for me as Chiappa winds up the sprint

My move is well-timed and I win the leg, marching through to the Quarter finals.

So, onto the Quarter Finals and Ive got a tough draw with Kevin Sirieau

Leg 1
Perfectly placed in Sireau's wheel

I take the first leg easily enough

Leg 2
The action is side by side with half a lap to go! Im giving everything to power past

It went to a photo finish but a lunge on the line gave Sireau victory

Leg 3
The deciding leg, and Sireau has a decent lead early on

But what matters is the end result and I am through to the semi final

Great sprinting
Lets hope you get Rasmussen in the semis, you just can't trust those Frenchmen.

Its semi final time and yet another frenchman - Mickael Bourgain this time.

Leg 1
Bourgain thinks he's got a bargain in the first leg with a good gap here

Perhaps he should look behind though because Im coming right at him

Big mistake from Bourgain, Im now right on his wheel

And after using his slipstream for half a lap I take off and take an easy win

Leg 2
A similar tactic as last time for me, going out wide

I try to catch out the Frenchman and the Sprint is already flat out at this point

Bourgain has too much in his tank and I back off a little in the final straight to save my reserves for the final decisive leg

Leg 3
Opportunity here for Bourgain?

Opportunity? What Opportunity!

I'm in the Final!!

I just hope I won't be up against another Frenchman in Gregory Bauge

So it's the final and I will face my teammate Jason Kenny, who knocked out Blatchford (USA) in Round 1, Hoy (GBR) in the Quarterss and Bauge (FRA) in the Semis.

Leg 1
Kenny made me lead out

But I still had plenty of energy when I made my move

Not enough to shake off Kenny though, and he takes a 1-0 lead

Leg 2
Kenny again manages to get himself behind me in the second leg

So I pull up to the barriers and bring things to a standstill

Time for my move, hopefully catching out Kenny

But I dont get a big as gap as I would have liked

And Kenny wins it

He can celebrate victory, but despite him being a teammate, Im disappointed I couldnt at least take it to a 3rd leg

I have nearly a months break now until the next round of the Track World Cup in Copenhagen
