Another race with low expectations for us, so no surprise for us that the only time we got a mention on the first stage was when Haugard was dropped |

Not the best start for us. Tomorrow won't be better. And the same applies afterwards. Kill me now, please.
Congrats anyway DD!

I am not going to comment on that. Bye Ciolek.

Far too big group not far behind. If Bobridge had won the stage, he maybe would have had a chance. But his advantage should be too small now. This could well end up in a lottery, as anything can happen for us: a stellar performance to somehow hold off Coppel/Phinney and stuff.. or a bad day, that could even cost you a Top-5.
Well... as for know, I guess I should be happy with a podium on the stage.
Hopefully next year's new course will provide at least some more selection in the big group

Hilly stages in PCM. Ciolek just 8 places worse than in the flat opener says it all.
I'm actually glad the season will be over soon. Three months of nothing is better than three months of disappointments.
I hope Herklotz can get us a GC result now, but who knows what'll happen.
A minute gain on Senyenov to win white would be very appreciated though, unless I missed any good TTers in the same time.
Bongiorno and Kelderman might add Top 25-30 spots. Certainly not what I own them for.

I was hoping for a harder hilly stage. The podium seems pretty much out of reach now.

Just checked last year's ITT.. Bobridge lost 28 seconds on Coppel, not sure, who of them had a rather bad or good day though. A similar result would make it a kinda heart breaking tight GC decision again. Praying for +3 daily form then The big group still annoys me. If only Haig hadn't lost time in the opener, he would have been a serious U25 contender

Nice to grab a stage although it was a pretty dull stage otherwise. I think Coppel got this

Good stage win by Ponzi, just a pity the AI doesn't allow for fireworks on such a stage, in such a race. Now it's perfect for the TTers, eventhough Bobridge should have a fighting chance. Kind of hope he wins it, as the puncheur |

Jerome Coppel have performer horrible in the last couple of timetrials so I fear that he will again.
Also wanted a more selective race, as I really wanted two in top 5 and to win the Team GC. Had Spilak, Koretzky and Coppel for the hills and Coppel, Vlatos and Spilak for the TT.
Phinney will win this one easily - as usual.
On papir Coppel should become 2nd or 3rd with Bobridge close, and Spilak hopefully somewhere in the top 10. If we can get 2nd and 7th, we will be pretty close besind Moser I believem but anything worse than that, and the PT is decided before Lombardia.

Really rubbish hill stage, not at all as selective as it should have been.
Paterski a silver lining for the team, with 2nd in the KoM.

Brilliant stage for us. Too bad Oliveira couldn't be on the 80+ riders group, which would maybe give us a shot at some minor GC points.
Spare us some points, Mr. ITT, would you?

Well, that was not even close to achieve our win goal But - and don't get me wrong, I really liked that report - I don't agree about calling Bobridge's stage time "just bad". Yes, he could have done better afterall (and I would have loved him to at least pull the same time like Haig), but looking at who finished ahead of him, there were mainly better TT specialists. Except of Keinath, if I'm not totally wrong. Coppel definitely rode a strong timetrial, gaining 8 seconds more on Bobridge than he did last year. To finish behind Spilak (again just one second, like last year) is kinda heart breaking though. Big race for Festina though!
Soooo... 3rd ain't bad at all. Obviously I had minor hopes for the GC win, but hey. Third consecutive podium in our home race? Fair enough. The biggest disappointment was Haig's loss in the flat stage. A wasted opportunity for a great backup result behind Bobridge.
Congrats, SotD! And thanks for the quality reports. I know I've been harsh with Bobridge's results this year, but I simply had to defend his performance today One day, we will finally win this race!

Congrats to Festina. For both dominating this race and likely winning the PT title as well.
Horrible race for us. But that was quite expected, sadly...
Thanks for the report.

I've always been expecting some kind of result like this from Festina in Tasmania and Lombardia, and with both Coppel and Spilak in contention post hill stage, the signs were already there. Looks like the wait for a new PT champion may have to continue.
Fiedler with the bad luck then, but Trofimov also misfiring, after Ayubowan messed up Stage 2.
Very nice result from Keinath though. While Stage 2 was poor for Gastauer and other specialists, it did give an opportunity for him and Goos, and he certainly took it. Very good season by him.

I feel very unlucky with this result, but at the same time very lucky to see Tinkoff and Ayubowan having bad races and to see Strava "only" achieving two 2nd places. It seems all 4 of us wiil have to keep suffering till the end of Lombardia.
At the other end of the table, Festina takes a decisive step with this dominant result. Congratulations SotD!
And thanks for the reports, Aquarius. It's hard to be forget all the work behind the scenes with all the drama in these last races, but you and everyone else deserve a massive word of gratitude!

So, yeah, fight for the PT battle back on now, SotD? Congrats, huge result for you.
