No fucking way! this is brilliant. This double header was supposed to be one of the low points of the season and i thought i screwed up my planning gor it. Instead I'm on track for massive surprise result by Koch in Suisse with solid scoring by Vosekalns and GVA as well and a wild Dakteris wins this stage out of nowhere. I'm totally stunned right now
Thanks Lander, this victory is on you

Too bad the break stood completely still in the final 3-4km... For a moment I was seeing Tom David finally picking his first ever win. To have taken the win on stage 1 alone with lead, pts and kom would have helped a lot gaining back the lost in Vysnas crazy ride...
Leading the KOM will have to do. 5 points is better than nothing.

Not ideal to see Reis crash in the first stage (possibly jeopardizing his GC aspirations already), and his only mountain helper Silva DNFing.
Nice to see Coutinho taking 7th and taking hold of the U25 classification though. Bizarre sprint with Puma handing the victory to Evonik. Congrats KO!

What a surprise winner in Dakteris! Congratulations, knockout. And as you say yourself, you're doing great all over the place these days
For Holst Enger, he needs to be lucky and catch the right train to get anything from those kind of sprints, which is obviously a challenge, and even more so when there are no trains.
Really looking forward to the GC fight here. Hopefully Galta can be up there or thereabout. A top 10 is the minimum, and seeing Cattaneo as maybe the biggest favourite, a top 5 could even be doable for Galta. Will definitely be an interesting race to follow! |

David getting the KOM lead (wish he got there...) and Dakteris winning? What a stage

Crazy startlist. Orange is seemingly here to dominate which would be kinda ironic, given how much the team has sucked in PCT so far.
Good start by Kennaugh. |

Oh come on... Durbridge useless yet again
Seriously. What's wrong these days? Of course he finishes 6th.. useless.
Haig doing fine at least. But the stage win is what we came for. 6th.. pffff.

Back to not performing according to his stats for Vlatos. Too bad really... we have had 2 great chances to grab a stagewin and taking the lead, but threw them away. From here we will see nothing. Maybe Vasyliv for a low-end top 20...

I had hoped for a bit better, but can't really complain (like some others do). Looking forward to the mountain stages here

That's a great TT by Galta! Much better than what I hoped for, really, and it puts him in a great spot GC wise as well, with only Haig, Dekker, Cattaneo and Nibali beating him. Crazy good TT by the former, and eventhough you're disappointed in Durbridge, tsmoha, that 6th place for Haig looks likely to more than make up for it, if this means he's on the hunt for a good GC as well.
Also, the TT depth in this field can't be much to brag about when I've got three riders in the top 50 on the stage
Congratulations on the stage win, alexkr00! |

Never a good sign when your GC leader doesn't get a single mention in a TT report.
A minute lost on riders like Galta or Quintana is bad. eBuddy winning is nice for them but bad.

Naah. Durbridge's best TT results this year are something like 6-9 and a laughable Herbiers. I see 78-83 TT guys getting wins, but Durbridge hasn't won a single stage for me since 2012! Hardly getting a podium either. Except for Haig/Gunman at the Vuelta and a lucky Giro startlist, this is a frustrating season with consistent underperforming leaders. Haig can save this race, yes. But this is still a long way to go.

Losing a minute to Galta and Quintana, while also behind Monsalve. That's a pretty crappy ride from Keinath.
It's annoying that there's not really anything we can do to fix the extent to which TTs are so variable.

Wooo! Brilliant ride from Howson, always good to see former riders doing well. Durbridge again quite average for Jayco, but at least Haig did good, setting him nicely up for a good GC.

Not brilliant from Reis, but far from comprimising. Another battle with Galta is looming.
Nice to see Howson finally deliver a strong result, congrats alex! Durbo on the othe hand continues to suck. Haig did fine and will be good come the mountains, we're all rooting for your fetiche rider tsmoha

Abal says something else
Abal 20 s on Cattaneo is good and almost 1 min or more on everybody else except Dekker and Haig.
Also Haugard taking a podium on the ITT is good and also 3rd in GC, to bad Freddy could not sneak in to top 10. |
