Both Ginanni and Kangert should be able to score some decent points here. A high GC position will be very hard though.

Sprinter's field hasn't worked out for Van der Lijke so it's likely to be a pretty barren race for Vesuvio. With Kittel it was a choice between here and TONE - he isn't in Tirreno either. Evidently shown to be an incorrect choice, but was one made more because I like to have good riders in TONE, rather than anything more strategic.
Meanwhile Eritel have a wildcard, and bring our 8 strongest riders. Will be fun to see how that plays out, even if it's not particularly a race that suits Kudus and co.

The fact Bellis isn't even listed in the preview fills me with confidence for this race, but in theory a top 20 should be doable. In theory |

Not sure what I was thinking when I decided to bring Reis here, but anyway Avelino is in good form which should make a stage podium a feasible result.
Troffytroofles looks like the guy to beat, but it will be nice to see what Bob the bridge builder can bring to the table.
Good luck everyone and thanks for the preview Aquarius

Great win by Swift.
In especially as due to the triple clash, only one leadout for him. But Van der Sanden did it perfectly.
Really was a lucky grab last season when searching for talented and unmaxed Dutch riders. |

Good fight by Oram. When you asked if he could make it, I had a moment of optimism
Anyway. A day without crashes is a good day and even better, when we are showing our kit in a breakaway and with a solo move. Saber though should have done better, this was a non-show. Obviously we have a bigger goal here, so this Oram move must do for stage one.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
That wasn't a bad position from what I could tell, and looking at how long he stayed up there, this was certainly a chance for a Top 5 at least.
Thought we'd have a shot at the points jersey, but not like this.
Looking at that one shot, he could've easily repositioned behind Degenkolb...
10k less in round 1.

Wait, we tried to make a train? That was very cool to see, and 5th is good. Also encouraging for what's to come, hopefully we can try this a couple more times during the season
Congratulations, roturn on the win. Seems like Swift had enough Degenkolb domination last year and is determined to strike back this season. |

Meh, Vanderbiest not too great, but more worrying... My team is yet to join any break this season...

Well, we didn't crash. That's all I could hope for the flat opener.

Being beated by Swift is not shame. Being beated permanently is annoying, though. Congrats, roturn

Coquard not getting a top result was expected. I hope he will be better or lucky next time.

Nice victory from Swift, with Van der Sanden taking a good deal of the responsibility from this triumph.
Reasonable from Avelino, but I'm hoping for more in the next stage.

Great attempt by Van der Lijke. It didn't work in the end, but so much better to see him try and fail, than not try at all.

Only just now seen that Vlatos lost 4'30"...
That is a bit worrying. Did he crash or what happened? Seeing that he was in a good position to take 2nd on stage 3 and maybe also 5 extra points from GC position.
Atleast good that Taramarcaz got some points to cover some of the potential Vlatos losses.

Vlatos was very active in the first part of the stage, attacking several times before the actual breakaway was formed. He didn't crash, so i can assume that he had a bad daily form, which together with his waste of energy early in the stage made him lose that time. Actually, he wasn't too far from the last rider of the bunch, but he was in the bad side of the split

Aegon - Lavazza realy was showing some great teamwork, not getting in the wind until the precise right moment. Congratulations to roturn.
Grosu also having a brilliant finish.
