Dekker has been replaced by Cattaneo, who I obviously have high hopes for - good stats, but his horrible last season worries me a lot. Not really sure why he was so bad, to be honest, but we'll see. He has to deliver this season.
Worth noting (if you weren't aware) that Cattaneo has only just maxed out, so this is his first season on these stats.
Aaaarh! I hadn't even considered that. Makes sense. Much more optimistic now |

Interesting to see two of the predictions having Becherovka at the top, while the other two go with I-Gen - Festina. At least it hints to a race for the title. Hopefully it will be close to as exciting as last year's fight between Festina and Vesuvio. Personally I fancy Becherovka's chances this year, but they will probably need Bewley to do a season very similar to 2015, which on paper should be difficult, but it's Bewley after all...
I appreciate the faith most of the predictions show considering a top 5 for my team. Though, I'm more pessimistic myself, simply because having to let go of Martin should see us take a quite a lot less points than last year, eventhough Kristoff is better this season. |

Okay - I am going to give a quick wizard run through of the PT stock this year. Slightly tipsy after two glasses of the red stuff so sorry for offence particularly to Count
1st Metin nice Pluickin faced Vesties: So once we stop partying on Avin's expense for Plushkind's many GT success we calm down and realise that he now has a team to crack the top five again. His GT dominator should do brilliantly again and with Grosu and Zmorka now firing on full cylinders another quality season beckons.
2nd Bewleys bitch slap team: No real surprise here as Roman obsessively builds Velits and Sagan as high as he can. But as much as the Czech + Slovak, cool merger perhaps they could unite as nation?, team can kid themselves it is Bewley that is king. He is 29 now and in full legend hunting mode.
Sagan and Velits should do okay as will Howard in the sprints this backed up with many Bewley points should have have the Bitching Petrof team riding high in the team standings.
3rd Madman sports: So Malori to apply for Russian citizenship? Truffleman for President? OlegTinkov for MG demi-god of endless backlash on team hq graphic hell?
Top team not going anyway.
4th Power Gamer – Dope squad: Spilak < Pluichkin. Coppel gets less points thanks to hatred of testers from MGUCI. Lecuisinier is young pretender. SotD cannot do sprinters. Low top five as Spilak will find nice weaving way.
5th Volcano: Schleck and Gassyman. Frank is gone by Andy remains. I think this will be leaner year though for SN's squad top 10 yes but Swift is going to be a big miss, the team is in transition for new direction after Frandy years.
6th Aker – MOT: The Norwegian wet dream that is Hagen dominating on the hills has not quite emerged but make no mistake Eddy should be the Boss enough for this team to be shooting well into the top 10. Kristoff despite training is still poor mans Bewley, that said that is not too bad place to be as we all know Bewley is a bastard of brilliance.
Outside these two there is some really decent Norwegian briusers and of course a shyte pack full member Guldhammer. Galta, Laengan, Dyrnes, Enger all have bright futures in MG and ember must be credited for creating such a strong mainly Norwegian team and not storming off in a toddlers huff when is inflated stars asked for decent wage.
Unfortunately lack of big stage race star and the suspicion that Kristoff's ACC may just let him down leads me to the path of lower top table for this team.
7th Ice Creamers: Right okay Pendletons are unlikely to relegate in fact I sort of fancy them to shoot for a top 10. They went backwards to go forwards and they have a cobbler and hilly guy with two GC guys. Plenty of climbing and power strength no sprinters but wacko is not in for the dark arts. Simple arithmetic here good squad nice work wacko.
8th Aegon - Larazzer: We all know roturn remains a big GoT mark calling his team Aegon, I believe he has a hard one for constant stage race failure Keizer and of course other geek favourites De Bie, Olivier, Bennett and Groanewegen.
The big star though of course is the big signing Ben Swift, it is the usual SN offering of expensive little fruits and rather than the rather poisoned mouth of the Red Bull mercenery suckling at his teet it is the more sweet tender roturns who enjoys the Vesuvio nectar.
I think the Swift issue could be more competition and I am really not sure roturn has been able to contsruct a lethal enough train for him. Like most impossible not to root for Eggy - Lavatory and I am hoping he nudges into mid table territory. Lots of crud in PT this year (including my own motley crue) so by mid table I mean upper table
9th Pokerface: The green booger train continues to fire Mohs is ready for his 23rd season with the brand and they laughingly insist he is just 30 years old. Degenstrausse is now the king sprinter and the big Tenor is hoping to sing perhaps a Vuelta head to head against Madrazo beckons? Disgracefully no cobbled threat this year sinks this team down to lower top ten.
10th: Kenya loves Ponzi: Pretty much half the budget went on one man but with many other intelligentluy waged riders I think this team will surprisingly crack the top ten. Similar to he Pluichkin gambit Ponzi is a superb bet to ride a team high. Plenty of Africans here very exciting times for the MG with such diversity.
11th: Orange – KLM: CT is still ere and rules okay and much like Crommy despite the death rites being read out about their team they just will not flush. This one is sprouting new life for me with some exciting young climbers in Sicard, Catman and the boy for Boyaca. Not to mention the twat of twitter himself Ken doll. The sneaky bugger has some Kazach fruitloop as a cobbled hero too. Perhaps sneaking into top 10?
12th Evonik: I have a real soft spot for this quiet achievers team so I made them an offer involving Skiddy pants. They have the Red Bull rub with Frankies monster as well and the million poiund shockeGvA.
MvS, GVA will be interesting to follow not sure about either they look good but not dominating good they have flaws. GvA is Bewbastard and MvS is lack of ACC. Skiddypants at least should give good value.
13th Puma Pride: Dev squad comes to fruition. Cio may be obsessive at times but this tamaguchi is becoming fire breathing dragon and should comfortably survive in the PT this time. Blythe added which is a good fit really of nearly men but lots of nearly men is pretty good really. Could get one hit in there much like German sprinter Ciolek in real life but unlike that overrated younger Silvio who is turning into a who? Enough baiting good work here just around that 8th to 12th.
14th EBuddy: 21st century sponsor with a stage racing climbers team. Will the grand tour chicken finally man up, I think it is a about time for the real Robbie Gesink to stand up.
Fairly decent in most terrains, I once predicted alex for the chop but I have a feeling this group will survive another year in the top tier, but not by much.
15th Jayco lets still call them Oz cycling: Bobby and Burger van still unite and this team of fatties will still look to dominate Team chrono scene. Goss remains a couple times of year man a bit like a late 30's marraige really. Some exciting times ahead and I fancy no relegation fears but not really a top class team.
16th RBC: Decent squad this for a promoter. Plenty of hungry guys with good back up stats and of course ole flatnose still only 26 years of age and plenty of chances ahead if he can avoid dreaded team swap for ever. I just love the theme the lack of waste here this gets the Smowz seal of approval a suprisingly good season for this one just outside top 10?
17th Armstrong tribute: I love mresuper our second as far as I know sports journalist on daily. If nothing else we have aiden as a pro and CT and Mre flying the flag for real. Goodness only knows what SN will turn into, hopefully the next cycling Graham Watson type.
I digress – I hate this team. TvG is bland mcbland man but the main reason for hate is I think they will finish ahead of Red Bull for some reason. Also it is the bastard spawn of Indurain and Armstrong really, yes what cycling deserves. Could be worse could be US Postal – AstaMoviSkyushaoff founded by Sagan. Now that really would be something.
18th Bouygee Voeckler tribute: Isn't this the same team that was relagated a few years back? Agh yes Taaramae is better and surely going to be close to staying up with Baker boy and the exotic climbers legion. Actually no I know what it is like to have a team up for relegation as I have one this year and I wager this team may be close to chop.
Taaramae may raise his butt and just keep Crommy up but nah I have to root the other way if the Red Bullers are going to survive (which I doubt)
19th: Gazelle: Aha that is where Madrazo went. The usual tactical DD playing the Vuelta odds on favourite card, it could well be enough to ensure safety but the Spaniard is not quite the all conquerer he once was thought to be so could be tight. I am backing relegation unfortunately.
20th: Load of Bull: What the frigging hell was Smowz thinking? Too many riders. Too many loans. Too much shyte. Relegation. But sod it I have Cav so screw you if he can beat Swift just once I will love it
21sth: Bpost – Flanders: I'm afraid people don't use the post these days and the classics based team is just a bit old tat. Vanspreybrouck is not going to win on the cobbled stuff and neither is Clueless Cleays.
Flush the toilet here relegation fodder.
22nd: Greg's telephone company: Doggedly landed Guarnieiri, didn't someone mention to this fella that you have to ride mountains in the PT . Watch this team get a bloddy nose with numerous low point scores in mountainous races and I am not convinced they will score that well in the classics either.
0 MTN + 0.5 Classics + 1 strong sprinter = relegation

Brilliant read.
Love to see my team that high up even though I think it won`t be that good.
Sprint train though should be okay for Swift. He will have nice support surely. |

As ever, a fantastic read. The question I really want an answer to though, is whether Smowz's contempt for Grieg-Eftel comes anywhere near his contempt for Ayubowan last year? |

Liking it Smowz
Great read, and appreciate the words on our team. I think Ponzi can better his score from last season after his training, which would go a long way to keeping us up. 10th could be a bit of a push though but we'll see.
Nice to see not everyone sees us as a sure relegation candidate |

Lovely words about RBC Smowz hopefully your prediction can be accurate as I would love 16th overall of the rest wouldn't be happy about matt's though it's entirely possible |
