Moved up to 4th today, Sagan turned out to be a great choice.

He's the one keeping me in it for now, Gerrans and Navarro haven't done anything much to suggest they'll be serious threats. The signs aren't good for Talansky either as Garmin seem to be going with Martin yet again, it's too early to call on the Zubeldia/Schleck situation but not looking too good for me right now

I'm looking pretty good at the moment, Sagan/Majka rather than Degenkolb/Aru might have been better but we'll see at the mountains, Chaves is amazing so far and Valverde and Rodriguez aren't bad.
Of course, it'll probably fall apart at the mountains

Dani Navarro has officially gone from earning 1 point on GC placing to...
2 points on GC placing! ( )
Sagan did well but now I'm very reliant on Quintana and especially Froome to dominate from now on. Gerrans and Knees have at least been bringing in assist points nicely and Zubeldia should come good, however Talansky and Txurruka need some luck in the break from here on in if I'm going to get back in the top half of the league.

My team is falling into pieces, only four guys left!

At least you won't come last
It's a pretty bad sign when over halfway through the race your fourth best scorer is there entirely on assist points, and two of the three ahead of him likely won't score again!

On the other side of the table(sorry), I might be able to reach first again with Froome out, might end up being very close.

Well done mate! Wish I could say the same but at least Zubeldia finally did something and Quintana's looking better than he was.
Navarro back in 20th, order has been restored

Congratulations to trekbmc for the win in our Vuelta league! Congratulations as well to Banesi and Cleaver Cycling for the remaining podium spots in that order.
Personally I defended myself reasonably well and I was actually making my way up as other teams were falling apart worse than mine. I finally finished in 10th in our league, which isn't bad.
However, for the top positions, things started going wrong very early. Nibali's DSQ and S.Sanchez dropping out early without even taking that many points really hurt my team. Those guys were not just any riders or a small part of my budget, so my top aspirations were gone at that point.
Then, I'd expected several big breaks to have success in the last week, unfortunately Dombrowski didn't really do much. He was in the big break on stg. 20, but was outside of the Top15.
Barbero was another guy I really believed in for the sprints, just like his teammate José Goncalves. Unfortunately, while Goncalves did well, Barbero failed completely. In many ways this was worse than Dombrowski.
Among the GC riders, unfortunately I didn't have the previously mentioned duo, but the remaining ones did well. Both Aru and Purito did very good, and Valverde made a good amount of points as well, even if he wasn't as strong as he usually is.

9th in the league despite Pelucchi scoring nothing and Froome abandoning early. I think that's the best I've ever done! Congrats Trekbmc

I am amazed to win this just had the luck of so many of my riders not abandoning. 101st in the world (1 out ) Vanendert, Van Garderen and to some extent Gerrans were bad picks, but Picking Chaves, Aru and De Marchi balanced that out pretty well, also with Rodriguez and Degenkolb riding consistently.

Woohoo! Not last
Quintana was solid if not brilliant, while Froome and Sagan were good until they abandoned. Zubeldia and Knees did almost as much as could be expected from them but the good news ends there.
Gerrans was only useful thanks to Chaves, but it was Talansky, Navarro and Txurruka who really killed any chance of doing well at all. I was expecting Dani to at least match Zubeldia for points but he did almost nothing and Txurruka had a bit of bad luck but probably should have done more while he was there. As for Talansky, he did a complete van den Broeck and I don't think I'll ever pick him again even if he's ridiculously under-priced.
Well done to the guys who did pick well, some amazing scores in our league.
