Flügel attacking on the last hill, with Pippo sitting in the group. Then Pippo can take second after Flügel, copying the Festina double :-p

Well, that was a let down for the neutral. Great preview and report tsmoha, and a huge win for Festina.
43 km/h average as well and 113 riders together at the finish |

Great report tsmoha! Awesome to read.
I don't know what to say about the race though. Riccò won (can I ask for a drug test? ) but it seems that 113 riders at the finish is just PCM trolling around again. |

Not only did Thire try to get into the breakaway of the day, but he still managed to beat his teammates and have the honour to end as the best ING rider in the race - Stunning performance.
Great to see Ricco win, reminds me of the good ol'days of 2008

What a performance by Martin Reimer! For a second or two, I thought I had it or at least would podium, but the fact that he's up there, competing with the top riders... what a breakthrough, especially given his performance in Catalunya too. |

There's a reason I inquire about him every transfer season...

That was a somewhat disappointing race, and as it played out, a very disappointing (non-existent) team performance in the sprint. It seemed quite obvious that both Impey and Boasson Hagen had what was needed to win the bunch sprint, but when both of them start sprinting too early, and with none of them leading out the other, I must say I'm just disappointed.
We need to get our act together and start to co-operate in races as if we want to bring home the big results in the Ardennes. Oh well, enough of the disappointing talk
5th is a decent result in the end. Congratulations to Festina, SotD seems to have a thing for Milan - San Remo, definitely a big and unexpected performance from Festina.
And big thanks for the report, tsmoha. Well written and some nice pictures, just a pity the riders weren't up for making it a memorable monument. |

Normally I'd be all for the attacker, but Ricco...
Nice effort though, was a spectacular race.
And seeing Irvine in the break was great, nice to see him at least doing well at PT level.

3rd is really decent, happy with that, despite the slightly confusing tactics. Congrats to SotD and thanks again to Smowz

I know you're secretly wanting Dekker to win the Tour, so I leave the site, and Reimer becomes a free agent |

Huge disappointing race. Shameful Milan San Remo.
Pointwise I probably can be happy with 113 points.
But why send a team full of attackers and having no sprinter, when none of my riders is at least trying?
There are so many opportunities for an attack and nobody wanted.
So 15th and two more in the top25 is okay but the way was shit.
Great report though and congrats to Festina.

Hmm, when I saw Howard nowhere near Bewley, I knew this is not going to be a superb result, really. 6th place is not bad really, but definetely could be better as Bewley was the best sprinter in the end. I probably should bring in Sagan, he may was able to lead-out Bewley. Still a decent result.
Congrats to SotD, exactly the result his team really needed.

Great report for what wasn't necessarily the most exciting race the way things unfolded.
Very pleased with the second place of Van Garderen, better than I was expecting here.

The moaning mini finally gets his win, and it couldn't come from a worse named rider...!
First goal of the season completed at the very least. I feel Ponzi had more to give, if only he hadn't boxed himself in for so long.

Only Brambilla and Posthuma seem to want to race this season and with neither of them being present here, it wasn't hard to guess the outcome of this race for my team.
One thing is clear though - no matter what edition of the game we are using, Nechita is going to finish last in this race.
Nice reporting

Disappointed by the lack of early attacks in the finale, but hard to argue with it seeing as an atrack did actually stick .... Just! another sneaky MSR for Festina gets them back on track.
Good race for Wiki too with Swift nit able to get up there.
Copp was around the top 20 which was nice and good to see Viviani in break, if he can go with breaks this year he may get a few wins.

Very boring race, despite nicely written report.
Congrats to Festina, their captain was the only brave one to attack at the Poggio and it paid off. Nice consolation for Festina after strange results in first two months...
And you are right Roman, not bringing Sagan was probably a mistake, when i see which guys were best in the finale.

Thanks for the words on the report, guys!
A pity the race settled down once Caruso/Kruijswik failed with their attacks. I wish i had more to show, but instead of this one crucial move by Ricco, it was just Becherovka and Pokerstars controlling the race. So blame it on them At least there was this thrill wether the dopehead would make it to the line or not
Congrats, SotD! Guess this could make up for your frustration in the triple-header?!

As said a hugely disappointing race but you reported it well so thanks.
Nothing wrong with 14th here.
