Yep , it's fact , but it's somehow arrogant to think someone started story because of yourself. Okay you did, but (not that i am trying to look cool or something) i personally didn't start it because anyone. I started it because i was motivated, since i couldn't find motivation for continuing of Adria Mobil , Bauer's didn't work as i thought story will, and Radenska was perfect solution. Anyway, this is your thread, so stop this discussion here.
Updated second post with Team Goals, check it out.
First report should be tonight I think, not promising anything though. Sorry I haven't started yet, just want everything perfect (and I've been short of time recently).
All looks good for a great story, just keep the motivation running and it will be a great read. Looking forward what you can do with Zoild and the rest of the team.
@Selwink It would seem that way but actually not at all, 4 of those races he won't be competing in so it will come down to our other guys like Kvasina and Sokol.
@Alakagom I've taken your advice and decided instead of rushing a report tonight, I'll just go to sleep and post it tomorrow afternoon which I have free! Thank you for the kind words though, it might sound a bit stupid but I really think I've grown up in the last year or so in terms of understanding what I'm capable of, and it was obvious that last year when i stopped and started all those stories I wasn't aware of my capabilities. That has changed now though (I hope) as I'm very confident I can do this.
Our first race for the season is here in Umag, Croatia. The race is a circuit of 4 laps around Umag, and it is quite hilly so anything can happen today, but a sprint is still a major possibility. For us, we have Zokol, Marin and Kvasina all with a chance to get a good result so we'll have to wait and see.
The race started fast with a lot of attacks from a feisty peloton, but a real break didn't form until the halfway-stage of the race, where a 15-rider group got ahead. Inside the group was Gourmetfein's Eibegger. Such a large group was too dangerous for the peloton to leave alone though, and they were brought back with 55kms remaining.
The hills in the profile weren't enough to majorly split the peloton, so Kvasina had a go near the top of the climb and tried to make a gap on the downhill. He got some cheers from his home-country fans but nothing came of it as it seemed the race was destined to end in a sprint.
It became apparent that the pure sprinters, although still in the main group, were tired from the hilly terrain. The rider with the strongest legs would win this race and that was Rui Sousa, who sped away from the tired peloton and won by several wheels. Our best placed finishers were Sokol and Marin in the top-15.
Not the best result, but the hills were a bit too much for Jan, and although Matej gave it his all, he didn't have the speed to keep up with the winner today. No worries, on to the next race!
