About Carlsberg's high wages, well, I should have seen it coming. It's better to have three-four super stars who earn more than the entire team than having a lot of semi-stars with mediocre wages. That's for sure. |

That is because you got him on like the first day, before the market had enough time to set an adequet price for him. Had you gotten him after after it was seen that lesser riders were commanding considerably more money, he would have had an astronimical price tag. I am sure at the time it seemed like a good deal, but when riders like Sella and Danielson started to command Million dollar salariers, it just shows that he was vastly underpriced.

Plus wasnt Di Luca a swap with Smoothie for 500k plus 3 other riders? He still cost a fair bit and there was no way for the wage to be increased.

A bargain to say it the least...
(In fact, I even offered T. Dekker for Di Luca, but Smoothie declined .. can you believe that? ) |

He really should cost in the region of 1.5k, when comparing to what you can buy for 1 mio.
The problem with the salaries are that they dont reflect what the riders are worth - but im pretty sure Crommy is working on something here.
Perhaps let riders salaieres be decided by their placings in the indivisual ranks...

It would fuck some of us up, but would be sort of realistic - and also perhaps keep the playing field a little more level..I wouldnt like to play a game where the rich is rich just because they had a lucky draft/better team back in season 1.
Of course, Im in the lead only through my superior managing skills :-)

Well if the transfers become more realistic then Im sure Danilo di Luca, the likely ProTour winner, will demand a much higher salary than 400k since he is better than many higher ranked than him.
But then Cunego may get upset that Di Luca earns more than him and demand an equal salary, but then Di Luca may get stubborn and want more than Cunego etc etc etc until one of them leaves
I dont have much idea of how its going to be like though, as that is Crommy's 'department'. My department is stat decreasing and increasing for old and young riders, the old riders will lose a fair amount of stats - for example, Boogerd will have 77 hills, instead of 81.

Thank god most of my riders are heavy dopers, so the shouldnt decrease that much...right? B)B)

@zutcorp:
Good that you mention it.
All known dopers will be deleted from the database with immediate effect and all their previous results this year revoked.
However, the respective teams will still have to come up for the salaries of its doped cyclists until 2010 denying them the right to contract any rider that would exceed the existing salary cap.

one word: NO!
we in this game cannot influence the real life dopers. if we could, we'd prevent our own team from taking it or at least from getting caugth. |
