Training Camp - Palme de Mallorca
Its always great feeling when you're at home. We was searching for best hotels/trainers/camp and we just found out that we have the best one + its home one , in Spain. Actually , Palme de Mallorca is one of the best training camps in the world. We was about 5 days there, just to get some condition for upcoming season. I will try to make a quick review of that camp.
First day was actually great, guys was just riding around Mallorca and trying to remember terrain. Nothing big happened and pace was just normal, here is screenshot:
Second and third days were something like first one but with a bit action there. This is how it looked alike when Sanz attacked,3rd day:
4th,5th and 6th day passed in each-other attacks. One group attacks at 4th,one at 5th and one at 6th day. I think that was great tactic, guys felt awesome after each of this "stages".
At the last 7th day,in Sunday, pace was very high but noone attacked, that was just to get some strenght in before hard season.
Thats quick review, soonly i will do Calendar for 2013 and TdU preview. Thanks for following!

Stage no.1
Its perfect stage for Rojas. A bit hilly and finishing in sprint should suit perfectly for him. Our job today is to bring him to last 300 meters on first 5 positions so he can outsprint everyone else. Now report!
At the start of stage, first attack gone well,so,morning breakaway is,first time this year, successful.
Guys at front actually was Dockx (Lotto) , Rathe (Garmin) and Oliveira (RadioShack).
After 10 kms,Rollin (FDJ) attacked and tried to join them.
2 minutes after that,he finally got them, now there is only 1 compact, breakaway group.
Unfortunately,i forgot to take SS on Mountain pass (HC) , which is taken by Oliveira.
Gap was bigger and bigger while E1 riders was coming to first intermediate sprint this year. Jakob Rathe was just stunning and none could get closer to him even. He got all glory from it :
After fall and small injury, one of the race favourites,Gorka Izagirre (Euskaltel) joined group. He is now fine and should not worry.
Same situation as at first intermediate sprint, was at 2nd. Rathe blowen out competitioners. He,once again, got it.
20 kms to go,you could clearly see peloton in background, but E1 is still going great, can they get it?
At the same moment,in group, Katusha and Movistar was setting up the pace, trying to get breakaway.
Domination of Rathe at sprints continued, taking the last one of the day. What a day for him , 3/3.
About 13,5 kms to go, group got breakaway, now they could focus on sprint.
10 kms to go,there is only 1 big group, preparing for sprint.
Then,action starts!
Visconti - Sanz - Rojas , Movistars train started, but they got even 20 seconds gap on peloton, what happened?
Noone wanted to work and to catch them and they gone on 30" . Group started to work lately and they was only on 10" now. But,can they get it?
300 meters to go,Rojas saw that none of Visconti-Sanz has any chances there so he had to start a bit early sprint.
Aaaand he got it! 1/1 for Movistar, what a start!
* Just to notice, i wanted to repeat stage due to peloton slowing down before sprint but i already made it so i couldn't. I am playing on Hard and no , this is not Easy, its only bug!

Yeah, training camp did what it is deserved for. Great form at the start of the season. Everything smells that Rojas can be our first sprinter at Tour while Ventoso will sprint in Italy and Spain. Thanks for following!

I wouldn't use Training Camps myself since the AI never uses them. Nevertheless a great win (first of many we hope) for José Joaquim Rojas. Renshaw and Hushovd are your biggest competition but they didn't show up for the sprint. Weird.
Also Nelson Oliveira KOM holder awesome |
