Not the best start. Though in this field, the team should be able to do something!

Spilak23
The start could definatly have gone better.

Santos Tour Down Under: Stage 2

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm11_zpsfb2cd100.jpg

The second stage is flat again but there is a hill which tops out inside the final 10 kilometre. An attack there could definatly be succesfull. We will support Bouhanni once again.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm12_zpsbc89e762.jpg

Today's only escapee Bazayev (Astana) gets joined by Poels (Vacansoleil) and Favili (Lampre) as they start the final hill. Poels is probably the biggest favourite for the overal so this could turn out very intresting.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm13_zps81f87ba4.jpg

Team Sky put their team at the front to work. Having both Sutton for the stage and Kiryienka for the overal, they have to take up their responsibilty. The Orica team of race leader Matthews is a bit further behind.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm14_zps3482ae7c.jpg

Coming over the top, Favili takes the points in front of Poels. They have a gap of about a half minute on the pack. Bazayev has been dropped and is already back in the pack.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm15_zpsaa890957.jpg

Sky worked hard and brought the two back in right as the sprint starts. Vaitkus is leading out Matthews with Sutton and Bouhanni in his wheel. Gavazzi, Kwiatkowski and Gallopin are also near the front.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm16_zps98326393.jpg

Matthews had to go from far out and when passing the flamme rouge, the others are looking to overtake him. Sutton and Gavazzi are closest with Bouhanni and Kwiatkowski in their wheel respectively.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm17_zpse099cb3e.jpg

Michal Kwiatkowski takes the win wearing the U25 jersey. Kreder and Tanner came with a strong comeback to take the remaining podium places. Roux could followed these two to take 5th right behind Bouhanni.

We can be satisfied with 4th and 5th here. Roux really surprised. Let's hope Bouhanni can atleast take a podium in the next sprint.

Santos Tour Down Under: Stage 3

The first of two hilly stages this race. A local lap around Stirling with the finish at the highest point of the lap will decide the winner. Roux helping to finish as high as possible is today's task for us.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm18_zpsa64b547f.jpg

Boucher is in the break of the day for us. He only has one companion. Niemic is a good rider uphill but Boucher is feeling very well and has no problem following him.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm19_zpsa35ffa6b.jpg

When their advantage reaches 6 minutes, Sky and Vacansoleil take over from Omega Pharma and start organising a chase.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm20_zps885df6da.jpg

4 riders go in the counterattack with around 30 kms to go. Minguez (Euskaltel), Gallopin (Radioshack), Moreno (Movistar) and Gavazzi (Astana) are riders who can't be underestimated.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm21_zps8146fb4a.jpg

Right as his group reaches the front, he attacks again. Smart move as the pack immediatly catchs the other 5. His advantage is not more than 20" as he starts the final ascent.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm22_zps58ecd7c9.jpg

Many attacks on the final hill. Clarke (Orica) and Kolobnev (Katusha) are the first to pass Gallopin. Roux has no trouble staying right behind the Omega Pharma riders working for the race leader.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm23_zps2c69c56f.jpg

None was able to break free so the riders will sprint for the win. Kiryienka is leading under the kite. Everything is still really close so still a lot of riders in contention.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm24_zps539a3193.jpg

It's Wout Poels who finishes very strong and takes the win. German champion Wegmann and race leader Kwiatkowski complete the podium. Roux finishes 10th today as no time gaps are created.

With Boucher in the long break and Roux in the top 10, nothing wrong witht his stage.

You have four guys within twenty seconds of the Race lead so anything is still possible Smile

The 4th stage Down Under is completely flat again. Bouhanni in the sprint for us.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm26_zps620992b0.jpg

5 guys in the break of the day without any FdJ riders. Oss (BMC), Isaychev (Katusha), Marcato (Vacansoleil), Sergent (Radioshack) and Lutsenko (Astana) are their names.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm27_zps861c1168.jpg

The work at the front of the peloton is mainly done by the Omega Pharma team of race leader Kwiatkowski. Euskaltel is also helping out a bit.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm28_zpsfc043049.jpg

Isaychev and Lutsenko try their best but they are caught right after passing the 20 km to go banner. The other riders who were in the break are already in the peloton.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm29_zps6629f535.jpg

With Bouhanni feeling good, we decided to set up our own leadout train. Rollin, Roux and Fischer as final leadout men know their task. Bring Bouhanni in perfect position under the kite.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm30_zpsfa509c84.jpg

Fischer is still at the front when approaching the banner. Matthews, Ventoso and Renshaw are all sitting in Bouhanni's wheel.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm31_zps9c6a98e2.jpg

It's Matthews who takes the win and retakes the race lead. Ventoso and a surprising Tanner take the next places. Bouhanni finishes outside the bonus seconds on 4th.

Sorry, forgot to export. Our leadout train worked well as Fischer brought Bouhanni to a good position but the others were just a bit faster to overtake him.

Another top 5. Not bad.

A nice fourth place for Bouhanni Wink

Santos Tour Down Under

The 5th stage is generally the decisive one in Australia. Finish on Willunga Hill. Our team will try to keep Roux as much to the front as we can.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm35_zps0fee2f8d.jpg

6 riders in the early breakaway. Rollin is our guy in there. They stood no chance though and were caught in between the two ascents of the hill.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm36_zps49ed58c0.jpg

Some attacks came but none could stick so the riders will sprint upto Willunga hill for the win. Florencio, Bardet and Sutherland are at the front. Roux is in a very good position and still has good energy.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm37_zps723af6df.jpg

We're in the final kilometre and it turns out to be a fight between Florencio and Poels. It's really close at the moment. Roux has come true and is in 5h position but has he enough energy left.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm38_zpsa2172317.jpg

It's Poels who finished strongest to take a second stage win in front of a surprisingly strong Florencio. Roux can be happy with an 8th place. Poels is also the new leader.

Santos Tour Down Under

The Tour Down Under ends with a criterium in Adelaide. Goal is to put Bouhanni on the podium here.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm40_zpsb6d69290.jpg

It took same hard chasing by our domestiques but the early break gets caught when we're already inside the final 10 kilometres.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm41_zps50c4ca83.jpg

We also set up our leadout train. Rollin followed by Roux are in front of Bouhanni. Cantwell, Boivin, Markus and Schulze also have good position in his wheel.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm42_zpsb09f58f8.jpg

Bouhanni went for it in the last km but local crit-star Cantwell was stronger and came around to take the win. Bouhanni finishes 2nd which catapults him into the overal top 10. He is now 8th as Poels took the win.

Overal, we can be happy with this race. We had no high hopes but showed our jersey and got some top 5's while also putting Bouhanni top 10 overal.

So close that sprint!

Thanks Ian. I'm still having some problems with the graphics. Well the game is doing a bit weird in resulting no public while the puclic thing in settins is on 4...

GP d'Ouverture La Marseillaise

The GP Marseillaise is the start to the European cycling season. Not so long, the multipe hills should force some selection. Attackers definatly stand a chance but everything can come back together for a sprint aswell.

Spoiler
i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm45_zps19117b18.jpg

Our squad here is headlined by Sandy Casar. Vaugrenard, Geslin and Offredo are all decent riders aswell so we hope we can bring one of them close to the win.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm46_zpsb22738e8.jpg

Some stronger punchers join the early break about halfway on the course. Biggest names at the front are Cardoso (Caja Rural), Deignan (Healthcare), Pinotti (BMC) and cyclo cross star Nys (Crelan).

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm47_zps3c452263.jpg

Coming over the last hill, Casar is about to join Nys who surprisingly was the onlyone in the front group that could hold off the chasing pack. The peloton is not far behind though.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm48_zpsdf7d9236.jpg

The leading duo is caught inside the last 5 km. Luckily, we have a second card to play. Offredo has brought Geslin to the front, he should be able to defend himself in a group sprint.

i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa477/Spilak23/pcm49_zps0decfc92.jpg

Geslin's sprint is very strong but he has to see one guy passing the line in front of him. It's Lloyd Mondory and AG2R who can celebrate a nice victory. The third place is taken by Pires for Saxo.
