Ian & Sutty - He is definitely well placed but Van Rensburg has the edge being a handy sprinter he's picking up time bonuses on the flat stages! |

Stage 4
A flat stage with some climbing, could be good for some attacking riding.
Favourites - Remco Te Brake, Nikias Arndt, Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg

Anciaux breaks away early on, surprisingly no-one goes with him, so he has a lonely day ahead of him in the break. Not that he minds as he takes the first 3 categorised climbs, ensuring he'll be in polka dots tomorrow!

On the final categorised climb of the day, and Maxime a minute up the road the fireworks start, as Tom decides to attack and catch the other main favourites off guard.

It briefly works as he gets across to Maxime, but a couple of small groups make it off the front of the peleton in pursuit. But look who's coming. The yellow jersey.

The peloton re-groups and with 5km to go it looks like we're going to have a sprint, until Goesinnen surprises the sprinters with a big attack. Oliver Rossi follows, and someone follows him...Stubbe! One last ditch attempt from the Belgian and the peloton are slow to react. This could be it!

Goesinnen is super strong today and takes an excellent win, Rossi and our man Stubbe couldn't even hold his wheel! but they hold off the peloton! Vallée also sprints to 9th place, a good day for the team!

Stage
1) Floris Goesinnen - Drapac - 3h53'41
2) Oliver Rossi - Rapha - +22
3) Tom Stubbe - Idemasport-Biowanze - s.t.
4) Remco Te Brake - De Rijke - +1'06
5) Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg - MTN - s.t.
6) Adam Phelan - Drapac - s.t.
7) Marc Hester - Concordia - s.t.
8) Adam Semple - Drapac - s.t.
9) Boris Vallée - Idemasport-Biowanze - s.t.
10) Arran Brown - MTN - s.t.
GC
1) Floris Goesinnen - Drapac - 16h31'46
2) Tom Stubbe - Idemasport-Biowanze - +14
3) Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg - MTN - +46
3) Adam Phelan - Drapac - +1'14
4) Tsgabu Grmay - MTN - s.t. |

You've passed Van Rensburg in the GC, but now Goesinnen is in front of you. But you've still a chance to win the GC.

Stage 5
Another flat stage, this one with a downhill finish, should be a fast and furious sprint.
Favourites - Remco Te Brake, Sondre Holst Enger, Arran Brown

Today was another uneventful day, with just a one-man break up the road, and little action to speak of. Bartl (LKT) took the only categorised climb and the 2 intermediate sprints. Boris is +5 for the day and feeling super, so we're hopeful of a good result.
With little action to speak of we jump straight to the sprint, where as you can see it really could be anybodies at this point.

It is Van Rensburg though who is once again victorious. Boris launched his sprint too late, and paid for it sadly. He is young though, and still learning at this level.

Stage
1) Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg - MTN - 4h26'57
2) Arran Brown - MTN - s.t.
3) Remco Te Brake - De Rijke - s.t.
4) Morten Ollegard - Concordia - s.t.
5) Adam Phelan - Drapac - s.t.
6) Yoeri Havik - De Rijke - s.t.
7) Ed Clancy - Rapha - s.t.
8) Nikola Aistrup - Concordia - s.t.
9) Boris Vallée - Idemasport-Biowanze - s.t.
10) Marc Hester - Concordia - s.t.
No changes in the GC, apart from Van Rensburg's win which leaves him 26 seconds down on leader Goesinnen and still behind our man Tom Stubbe too.
Tomorrow is a huge day for the team, we'll be riding the Queen stage of the Tour of South Africa, where we hope to propel Tom into the leaders jersey, and we join the big boys for the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad!
Stay tuned! |

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
Our first cobbled race of the season, the boys are super nervous. All the big classics guys are here too, we're just here to enjoy the experience of taking part in such a big race!

Here's our team for the race, Antoine Demoitié is to be our leader.

Antoine Leleu is our man for the break today and is attacking like mad to be part of it. Sadly he doesn't manage to get away and an 8 man break is formed.

Here is our leader Demoitié, only 21 years old riding alongside and chatting to his hero Tom Boonen, who has no idea who this young kid from a team he's never heard of is.

With the race grinding on and the break being caught quickly Demoitié is the only man left in the peloton with 35 km to go, the rest of our team have been dropped.

An elite group of 17 forms with just over 30 to go and look who's hanging on at the back! Demoitié is riding really well but he's starting to tire.

Demoitié manages to hang on at the back for 5 km before he's dropped and then passed by another strong, he's spent. Meanwhile up front the 2 groups have come together forming a 30 strong bunch and they're heading for a sprint, there are some attacks but they don't get very far.
The sprint is a little messy with no teams really setting it up, but Boonen puts in a huge sprint and wins by miles, over a very surprising Frédéric Amorison.

Nearly 8 minutes later in rolls Antoine Demoitié, covered in mud and soaking wet. He's done us super proud today.

Results
1) Tom Boonen - Omega-Pharma - Quickstep - 4h52'00
2) Frédéric Amorison - Landbouwkrediet - s.t.
3) Bernard Eisel - Sky - s.t.
4) Juan Antonio Flecha - Sky - s.t.
5) Philippe Gilbert - BMC - s.t.
6) Sylvain Chavanel - Omega-Pharma - Quickstep - s.t.
7) Ian Stannard - Sky - s.t.
8) Sep Vanmarcke - Garmin - s.t.
9) Lloyd Mondory - AG2R - s.t.
10) Johan Van Summeren - Garmin - s.t.
37) Antoine Demoitié - Idemasport-Biowanze - +7.40
The whole team did us super proud today, despite the awful conditions all 8 managed to finish! |

What an impressive sprint from Boonen. The team did well today. Unfortunately they probably didn't make the television-broadcast, but they tried their best, all of them |

@Ian Butler - Sadly probably not, but we still have Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne to leave our mark on!
@Sutty - Exactly, we'll be back to this race, stronger next year! |

Stage 6
The Queen stage, a hilly day, we're hoping to put Tom in yellow today, but he faces stiff competition from a certain South African.
Favourites
Tom Stubbe, Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg, Floris Goesinnen

With just one rider in the break today (Bartl again) the day was pretty quiet.
Tired of the slow pace we decide to take it up a notch in the run up to the cat 1 climb, by the time we've crossed the summit, Bartl only has 1 minute advantage left.

With 20 to go the peloton is well strung out, Goesinnen and Van Rensburg both have plenty of support.

On the penultimate uphill section the first of the meaningful attacks comes from MTN, not Van Rensburg, but Grmay, the team keep him from getting away though, and the peloton remains together. It'll all come down to that final climb.

As soon as we hit the bottom of it Phelan (Drapac) goes hard, Stubbe follows and they get clear, forming a 4 man group. With Aasvold (Plussbank BMC) and Huub Duyn (De Rijke). The four of them have around 25 seconds gap with 3 to go.

Van Rensburg spots the danger though and bridges across solo. The quintet have 20 seconds and only 1.5 km to go, they will sprint for victory, Tom takes Van Rensburg's wheel...

Van Rensburg and Tom sprint away from their companions who are caught by the peloton, and for a minute it looks as though Tom might come round Van Rensburg but the South African hangs on to take the win.

Stage
1) Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg - MTN - 3h52'26
2) Tom Stubbe - Idemasport-Biowanze - s.t.
3) Lorents Aasvold - Plussbank BMC - +28
4) Adam Phelan - Drapac - s.t.
5) Tsgabu Grmay - MTN - s.t.
6) Huub Duyn - De Rijke - s.t.
7) Jani Tewelde Weldegaber - MTN - s.t.
8) Floris Goesinnen - Drapac - s.t.
9) Lucas Persson - Concordia - s.t.
10) Micheal Stevenson - Concordia - s.t.
GC
1) Tom Stubbe - Idemasport-Biowanze - 24h51'11
2) Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg - MTN - +4
3) Floris Goesinnen - Drapac - +44
4) Adam Phelan - Drapac - +1'36
5) Tsgabu Grmay - MTN - +1'40
So with one stage to go we take the yellow jersey back by the smallest of margins. But it isn't over, Van Rensburg's sprinting ability means he still has one last chance to take it back on the flat final stage. |

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne
Same team for today as yesterdays at Omloop, we're expecting a sprint from a small peloton.
Favourites
Tom Boonen, Thor Hushovd, Matti Breschel

Jeff Stassen is our designated man for the breakaway today, and he attacks from the word go!

Surprisingly it's the first move of the day that sticks, Jeff finding himself in a group with Huzarski (NetApp), Tanner (Saxo), Marangoni (Liquigas), Gretsch (Argos) and Boeve (De Rijke). They get about 6 minutes max.

On the steepest of the cobbled sections in the race 11 men manage to slip off the front, Boonen, with 3 team-mates and Demoitié! they have 1 minute on the peloton, with 75 km to go, but are soon brought back.

A 4 man group however does get away, Ghyselinck (Cofidis), Eeckhout (An Post), Mondory (AG2R) and De Vocht (Accent) quickly building a 2 minute lead over the peloton and soon bridge to the breakaway to be later joined by Bak (Lotto) and Freire (Katusha).

With the break looking like it'll be reeled in very soon Flecha decides to attack. 20 km out, he wants to avoid a sprint.

Amazingly with 15 km to go it looks like the break might make it, with the peloton no longer catching them, the gap is going out. 1'45. It has Boonen, worried, so much so he starts pulling on the front!

The break is eventually brought back with only 5 km left to race, instead of waiting for the sprint Boonen decides to attack instead!

In the peloton the sprint is on behind him, but will Boonen hold on?

You bet your ass he does!

Results
1) Tom Boonen - Omega-Pharma-Quickstep - 4h19'13
2) Philippe Gilbert - BMC - +21
3) Thor Hushovd - BMC - s.t.
4) Matti Breschel - Rabobank - s.t.
5) Bernard Eisel - Sky - s.t.
6) Alessandro Ballan - BMC - s.t.
7) Ian Stannard - Sky - s.t.
8) Lars Boom - Rabobank - s.t.
9) Fabian Cancellara - Radioshack - s.t.
10) Maarten Wynants - Rabobank - s.t.
Antoine Demoitié is our best finisher and comes in 38th with the peloton.
Next up the final stage of the Tour of South Africa. Will Tom hold on to his yellow jersey? |
