Are there screens? If there are my computer must be freaking out.

It's great to have you back!

Good luck with Ryan!

Avin Wargunnson
Roturn is back with a story, fantastic!
I know Ryan from the man-game as he is upcoming superstar there. In your story he will be another type of rider, but still talented i hope. Good luck and great start in Argentina for the whole team with KOM and top 10 at the TT. Smile
I'll be back

roturn
Thanks all.

@Avin: Actually I also know him from the ManGame and I thought he wouldn`t be a real guy. Then I saw him in the results for the Ronde Van Vlaanderen U23 NCup and followed him a bit more.
That I started the career with Bontrager was just because they have much talent, young riders and just a few riders.

@baseballlover312: Only one so far I luckily made with the KoM jersey.
The Emerald race won`t have screens just like the first Sochi stages. Then I decided to make this story and so in future I will make screens.
Not decided yet how I will make it as it is a one rider story.

You can bring in you ideas:

- Reporting the races with Eastman just like in my Garmin story and short summaries of the other races.
- Less screenshots as I focus on Eastman, so I just show what he is doing right now plus some basics like breakaway and winner.
- Reporting with just 2-4 screenshots and a statement by Eastman like in a blog. (Similar what I have done in San Luis with a few screens)

Ian Butler
First time I'll follow a story of yours (I haven't been around that long Grin)
I'm curious, so far all I can say is: excellent choice of rider/team and nice one to grab the KoM jersey Wink

The Emerald Race

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Emerald-Profil218km.jpg

It`s the first exotic race for me this season. From San Luis we immediately headed to the East of Australia to Emerald, Queensland. It`s really hot here and nothing to compare to the USA at the moment.
The profile looks pretty hilly and with a short uphill sprint finish at the end but people are saying that the final "climb" is not really a climb and even sprinters could finish high up there. Still I prefer this kind of finish to a pan flat one.
The biggest problem should be the classic distance with 218km that early in the season. It will be interesting to see who is already in shape and who not.

Thanks to my result in San Luis I have some kind of leader role here together with Parker, our third climber. But it`s his first race this season. But as Australian he had to be here.

Although it`s a 1.2 race the start list is pretty tough. Riders like Schumacher, Dennis, Tiernan-Locke, Furlan or Rasmussen show the quality of the field.

We tried to bring Craddock into the breakaway. But due to the high pace at the beginning it took some time until the breakaway was found. At least it was a good test for my legs and thanks to my preparation in Argentina I felt pretty well.
Later it wasn`t Craddock in the breakaway but with Mannion we had a good rider in there, who can climb pretty well.
The pace immediately dropped and we could relax a bit as no team was willing to work for 200km in the hot sun today.
In the final Endura and Adria made the pace and gave the group no chance. So we will see a sprint finish here and due to the uphill sprint I was sent to the front to look for my chance and together with Parker we positioned pretty well.
But the hilly sprinters of course had the higher speed in the end, so it was Rohan Dennis taking his home win ahead of Marko Kump and Nico Eeckhout. Parker as 10th in his first race and me on a good 12th took care for decent results for our team on unideal terrain.

And with some successful races I say goodbye and go into my first season break already. I will start racing in 2 months again at the Tour of Sochi in Russia.

Alakagom
Great to have you back Roturn Smile There's no need to say this will be a great story ! Because it so easily will be one of the best. Good luck Wink

Looking at the team already, some of the riders seem to be capable of getting your some great results. Although as statsmaker few of those stats seem to be a bit high Pfft

That's a nice result in the The Emerald Race, 4 in Top 20 is quite nice start.

Top 10 for the team, that isn't bad.
Enjoy the break and return even stronger in Russia Wink

roturn
@ Alakagom: True. Dombrowski is great. But Boswell and Parker might be too high. On the other hand this is due to the PPDB Matrix and I guess it should work well in general as many riders have pretty high stats.

Nice to see you back in this section, roturn! Good luck, it's a promising story. Smile

Grand Prix of Sochi

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Sochi-profil.jpg

To be honest I rarely heard of Sochi before and last thing in my mind was that it will be host of the 2014 Winter Olympics, so nothing for us cyclists.
It`s in the South of Russia close to Georgia and directly at the black sea. Pretty cool place actually.
2 months off racing and now a hard stage race waits for me. In especially the 4th stage is tough with 245km! This is a long ride until the finish.
I had a lot of training in this time and so I feel good. I just need the fine tuning I just can get in races now.
My focus is on the two hilly stages. I might try something there like going into the break or fight for a good overall position. Other than that I mainly help my leaders in this race.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Sochi-team.jpg

Together with Parker and Boswell I will try to get a good result and maybe even a stage win. Craddock, Avis and Atkins are mainly helpers but will get their chances as well as we want to be in the break every day.

Favourites:

*** Tiernan-Locke
** Chernetskiy, Gutierrez Cataluna
* Janse van Rensburg, Angel Nino, Boswell

First three might be hard to beat but many teams here concentrate on the sprinters only, so we might have a good chance to get a good overall result with Boswell, Parker or even me. Endura of course needs to do the most and also the Russian teams should show themselves at the front.

Goals:

- Top15 GC

Just a question.

Do you want some World Tour results as well? At least GT`s and Monuments?

Pellizotti2
Just GTs and monuments sounds good to me. Races like TDU aren't really that interesting when you're not participating. Smile

True. Will first finish Sochi. Then make 1-2 races of my team without Eastman in short summary and then a short summary of the monument podiums or top10`s.

Grand Prix of Sochi

First two stages have been pretty flat and without a sprinter in our team we wanted to join the breakaway.
It was Craddock attacking on the first stage to secure the KoM for our team. Yet another good result for us. In the sprint we obviously had no chance and my 71st was just as good as the others.
Nippo`s Richeze won the sprint extremely close against Angelo Furlan of the Christina Watches Team. Janse Van Rensburg collected important bonus seconds as 3rd.

On the second stage we tried to bring Atkins or Avis into the breakaway. But all attempts failed and the pace was very high. So even with the KoM in sight there was no breakaway formed and Craddock got another 4 points there to improve his lead. I had a calm day and was able to save energy for the next two stages. My main part was to get some water bottles for the others, which will hopefully change tomorrow. The stage was again decided in a sprint and was won by Tiernan-Locke ahead of Markov and Damiani while yesterdays sprinters couldn`t show the same quality again. So the Brit now goes as clear favourite into the deciding stages.

As said until here I already played before planning this story. So in future expect some screenshots.

GTs and Monuments are more than enough, but not even necessary for me, Eastman is more important Wink

Yes, Eastman is the only thing for me. Smile

This is going to be awesome with the PPDB, since it has a lot more races, and more realistic races for Bontrager.
