Wow, well done, Bobridge! I already gave up this race, when I saw this 28-men-group late in the stage, but Bobo did a great climb for 6th overall and Young-Rider-win I was hoping for Cooke doing well here, but Bobridge was a nice surprise thanks to his decent TT- and Hill-skills..
After doing little of note, apart from getting Cooper in a few breakaways it was a very satisfactory final stage for us. I was fearing an anonymous race after reading the first four reports!
Veteran Kirchen showed his claws for the first time really this season, though ex Pendletons men Vorganov and Cherel really did well to keep going with the lead group despite obviously working for Kim. Veloso battled gamely on as well to be one of the better chrono men.
Volkswagen and CalBerry did well but the longer Pokerstars and Tinkoff are held back the better as far as the promotion race is concerned. Ignatiev was devestating in these types of races last year but I suspected Reus was far closer to him then anyone was though I can scarcely believe how badly the Russian is doing. I cannot recall exactly but the big HC Bayern Rundfaht race is about the only stage race left on the calender which suits Ignatiev down to the ground he has to perform there!
Good to see Cyclevox in the thick of it, Vaitkus was pretty rubbish last year looks a lot better this time.
