Note to self: Never put a strong team in one day races... Pfft I think that was what I did wrong.

Not expecting to do that well in this at all after seeing the field, so a very pleasant surprise!

Having a favorite guarantees little as I found with Pozzato last season. Crossing ones fingers is the best insurance on a race like this.

I think the case is that any race made with very narrow roads almost certainly will result in a breakaway win, simply because the AI isn't good enough to always keep leaders to the front of the peleton, which means that as leaders are dropped the pace in the peleton slows down and so there is a concertina effect. Not to mention the fact that domestiques getting dropped slows the pace in the long run. The break never have to deal with these issues.
