Three stages, and three podiums. That is.... unusual. But I can't complain.

Fuck! Why did Chavanel have to lose so much time on that stage? He'd be in second place right now! At least he picked up that stage #2, and should be able to get a good result through the hills. Hoping Feillu finds it in him for a good result. |

Van der Velde keeps it interesting, but shouldnt have any match for Alarcon on a summit finish. And Perez Sanchez looks quite likely to ultimately end on the podium, which could be important rankings wise

So, the first day in the mountains. Alarcon already leads with around 3 minutes to most other competitors. Yes, this is going to be one thrilling fight *sarcasm*.
Do I get the feeling this writer believes that the Sun Tour is beneath him?
Seriously though - I would not say this is a foregone conclusion for Alarcon to win the race, but he will surely be a podium. For other teams in the race they kinda knew it was a battle for second and so actually the race is quite 'thrilling'! Actually probably sounds like I am Kami bashing here, I like the way you get plenty of business end action in your races.
I quite like the fact the team is working for Hansen, he has been excellent all season and deserves a go in his home race.
I do wonder at stages like this in pcm09, I mean Bbox should have been able to keep that together.

I think Bbox did very good. Is there more stages to decide this race in? *checks first post*

@Smowz: Well, Alarcon has been the only rider so far, to really beat Ricco in a 1 vs 1 battle (attacking together). So, it would be surprise if he wouldn't have won. Van der Velde did fuck up, and it's a pity Perez Sanchez lost so much time on stage 1.
Also, the flat stages were more interesting then the mountain stages .

I preferred the flat stages. I can at least get a shot on the points jersey. And Greipel is up there for once...

@Smowz Yeh, this is very much a Hansen race. He won it for me dominantly 2 years ago. (That was PCM06, so different stages - no mountains)
And mb must be over the moon with the GC at current, although the TT may well change things

Bah, not such a good stage in terms of GC and that - Wu and Augustyn like so many losing it in the first days.
At least they gave it a go, but would have been nice to see them work with Hansen who went back a long ways.
UBS had a good day there the comparison between them and Santander should be interesting here.

touch wood, I could sneak 5th overall here which would be a massive result.
Not counting any chickens yet though

Three top 10's through stage 5, including a strangely strong race from Loosli. Hell, I'll take it. Only question is whether they can keep their spots through the TT. |

4, 11, 12, 13 is brilliant.
Please let there be no drama on the final stage

Very interesting and important battle for 4th in GC. The Ortegas are unseparable, and Didac could be saving Santander's season - even with Galparsoro dropping from 9th to 12th - Santander are scoring a lot more than expected, with UBS in turn scoring less than thought - sets up Japan nicely I expect. ElAl also looking set for a strong finish to the season - you could Argue Stage 1 cost Chavanel a podium, but without Stage 1, the likes of Evans and Lloret would surely have come more into this race.

Intersting indeed, but to be honest I'm just looking for this race to be over, and then Japan and Lombardia, then we can finally have the NC's and see my team again

That was it. I must say, while the race was interesting in the start, it went boring in the end.
Can't wait for Japan now .

Woo! Greipel's first (as far as I remember) victory this season! Woo!
And point jersey too! Hopefully I get some good points here. Two stages, point jersey, and 10th in GC.

Pretty dire performance in the end from the Red Bull boys - means likely we will finish below Mercedes I think in about 16th on the Teams classifcation.
Nice for Sutton to take an earlier stage and I quite like that Bbox had a good result, they had a good team here. Turned out okay for Santader and UBS making it an exciting finale for sure.
