Smowz wrote:So with the possible exception of Team B and O - this was definitely a sucky race for Festina.

But equally after a very indifferent Tour de France what a great couple of races for Pearl Adidas.

I don't dispute that. It really was. But it was to be expected as this happens in 99% of the flat classics. I just disagree that he has any reason to be bitter when his team has had a big amount of luck throughout the season (with which he never complained). To do so when it comes back to haunt him and forget everything that happened before just seems a bit of an overreaction.

As for Pearl Adidas, the season is about done as I don't think we'll be moving out of the 3rd to 5th place interval.

@SotD:
Exactly, I don't complain because it happens. Like I wouldn't have if Vanderbiest hadn't won in his home nation. Care to see an even huger cock up from Bakelants? Go see the Eire Tour. Excuse me if I don't see what's so revolting about a classic like this when it was to be expected that it would happen like it has happened many times before. The only difference is that you mind when it happens to your advantage (hence the reference to Deutchsland) but become severely upset when it bites you in the ass. That's all I said, that I don't agree with you're reaction.

Why would I complain when I am lucky? You aren't making any sense at all. If i underperform I gets sorry, if I overperform I get thrilled. If I perform according to par I don't care much. Isn't that just how it would be considered normal?

EDIT: And I don't think I wrote anywhere that I expected a win from Bewley, but the way the race evolved, I cannot be anything but unsatisfied with 26th no matter how well my team have performed previously.

You don't see Mourinho going out and say that it didn't matter that Real lost 5-0 to Barcelona because they had plenty of luck in earlier matches. That is in the past, and doesn't have anything to do with the current situation.

I'll repeat but I don't really see why this is being so hard for you to understand: All I said is that I don't agree with your point of view of simply eliminating all the things that have happened to your team in past races. But maybe that's just me because I comment on the race looking at the context of the whole season, not just the race itself.

Take a chill pill. I don't give a heck (yes, I went there Pfft) what you do. I just gave my opinion on an analysis that I don't agree with.

And this is the last I will be commenting on the subject because now we're just going around in a loop.

Nothing much here, even though achieving two top20s with a sprinter-free squad is something noticeable.

Good report Smowz. Nice to see we can always rely on you when it takes to maintain the reporting tempo Wink

Teams

Sony Ericsson scored ok, but still La Gazzetta are closing the gap fast. It was certainly a big race for Pearl Adidas behind, theyre up ahead of Festina into 3rd. Theres no huge changes behind, with many teams not able to get much from this race, but Domina edge past Auber.

Further down, Serebriakov leads Philips past Cafe de Colombia. and a much needed result for Nespresso could prove significant in the relegation battle, while Energie-Diesel also managed to gain 44 points on Carmeuse.

Looks like Energie - Diesel will be the last of the three to demote. The gap on Nespresso is becoming bigger and Carmeuse is likely to take points on them in TONE.

At the top, La Gazzetta isn't going to make it though, i guess. Pearl will probably manage third with Bakelants not likely finishing far away from Ulissi and Sanchez in the hills.

Yeah my 3rd place hopes probably went out of the window there. I expect Vesuvio to probably outscore me aswell by Schleck, so I just have to hope that I can distance them a bit in TONE, eventhough I doubt I will manage to...

Youll still be 3rd I reckon.

Pearl only really has Bakelandts, I only really have Schleck. You will score points in TONE, and your hill guys are also good at being consistent scorers in the hills. So really, you should be outscoring Pearl in all bar Herbiers, but Fothens not likely to win that anyway.

Schleck would need to win both races to give me a chance of 3rd, and he doesnt have that consistency

Yeah I don't think you'll get 3rd either, but I think you just might get 4th... You could potentially get some points in the TT race also. I will definately not.
