From those in the poll i have to choose Gilbert but I must admit that I really enjoyed Vinokourov this year and did not expect so much from him |

Cancellara for me. Only guy who was in the same category as Spartacus was Gilbert. But I have to say - the double was very, very impressive, that's the main reason why I pick Fabian instead of Phillipe. Plus he had great Tour de France and he is once again world champion in time trial.

Cancellara, he won the two (debatably) hardest one day races of the year. He still pwns at TT.
Purito held very good form all season long and got very good results throughout the season with that. Should be worth something.
LL Sanchez actually almost gets my vote. He did pretty well.

I voted for Fabian, but with honorable mention to Cadel Evans. I think he wore the rainbow jersey very well and showed some very attacking riding this season.
Thor Hushovd should also be recognized for his hard fought green jersey win and his win at the worlds.

Agree Hushovds had a very good season, 2nd at Paris-Roubaix and his Worlds win, but didn't Pettachi win the green jersey this year?
There's been a few who could win it in my opinion and i can't decide who to vote for. Don't think Scarponi's had that bad of a season either. Overall win @ Settimana Ciclista Lombardia, 2nd at Tirreno-Adriatico & Giro di Lombardia and 4th at the Giro with a stage win |

Gilbert for me. Simply because he has been the one moving the most up in level, according to previous seasons. I think Purito is second in that state.

Yes he did.
So this is where I try with "what I meant was..." Well he fought hard for the jersey... Even if he didn't win it.

Basso won the Giro, but not much more then that. Vino won LBL and 6th at the Giro. I don't think that's enough to be on this list.

I put Gilbert and Cancellara in the same level, but I vote for Gilbert because he won in the Hilly stages, thing that Cancellara do not. |
