They took the correct decision in my opinion. Also, after the Barredo v Costa and Fuglsang v Hunter fights, the organization did warn everybody that the next time the penalty would be harsher. |

It's obviously a joke. Sorry if it offended you.
But it's the wright decision. I agree, there is alot of Cav bashing here on the forum, and it's good that there are ppl defending him. But the decision would have been the same for any other rider. Just happened to be Renshaw, who i feel sad for, but has to blame only himself.

A joke? No, it was a just plain stupid comment - although you were trying to be funny no doubt, it doesnt really work when nobody has defended Renshaw in terms of blocking Farrar.

I like Petacchi answer..
"I saw Renshaw going head to head with Julian Dean but I also saw Dean trying to box Renshaw in."
that is my point..that kind of decisions are never easy. |

I think kicking him out was the right decision (even if it was made too quickly), but at the same time there should be some action against Dean because as stated he was boxing Renshaw in.
EDIT: Oh and ARASHIRO!!!

This is ridiculous. They should disqualify Cavendish for the way Renshaw acted. Head-butting and cutting off Farrar, What an asshole. He shoulds be taken out of the race imo.
Yes, let's disqualify Cavendish over something Renshaw did. Great idea. I also would like to disqualify Schleck, Armstrong and who else?
Good win by Cavendish today, very long sprint.

footage for those who haven't seen teh finish

seems a bit harsh for Renshaw to be DQd, given that Dean was forcing him towards the barriers
although he then backs up and forces Farrar (unknowingly) to the barriers (which Farrar should be nowhere near anyway), which probably should have been a slap on the wrists and a penalty in the stage (seems similar to what Cav and Hushovd did in stage 14? last year)

Just watched the sprint for the first time, and my thoughts are as such. Renshaw's headbutt goes beyond a basic instinct reaction, as he throws his head at him multiple times. However, his job of nearly pushing Farrar into the barriers is worse. Should either of the defenses be DQ'able, no, they should probably have earned him fines and a Green points docking. Combined though, Renshaw did in multiple ways almost cause a terrible crash, and so you can argue he should be DQ'd for quantity as well as "quality."
If you pushed me in a corner and asked, I'd say the DQing was harsh but fair. |

I've been accused of having a humour bypass. You must quite simply had yours removed in surgery or something.

My viewpoint......
The organisers had the right to kick Renshaw out of the race, but they should have done it by letting the riders have their post-race interviews, get back to the hotel, then inform the HTC management. Once that had been done they should have held a press conference to announce it.
By informing the press before HTC they race organisers acted unprofessionally.
That's my take on it. |
