His team mate Thomas Dekker then sets the best time of the day with 26m 39s

Caleb Fairly of SpiderTech loses over a minute

Tom Zirbel of Team Optum loses out by just 11s

Joseph Dombrowski of Bontrager will finish the day in 10th position losing 32s

Taylor Phinney will put in a time of 26m 36s

Gary Sutton would lose 6s to his great ride

And finally Race Leader Fred Rodriguez of Team Exergy would put in a brave effort despite not liking the time trial discipline and would lose over a minute

Another good ride from Gary which see's him climb back in to the podium positions

Five riders have an advantage of 1m 47s at the moment, they are Tvetcov/Team Exergy, Korus/Kenda 5 Hour Energy, Parisien/Spidertech, Pinkham/Bissell Pro Cycling and Williams/Competitive Cyclist

Five has become six with the addition of Avis/Bontrager Livestrong

With the lead now over five minutes Race Leader Phinney decides to get his team to up the pace

The pace they are setting seems to be working as the lead has now come down to under three minutes

Mountains Leader Schildge/Jamis Sutter Home has come across with two other riders to make the break nine strong with a lead of 1m 7s

Rodriguez/Team Exergy has decided to try his luck from a long way out

He has 31s in hand but the rest are closing in fast

Dombrowski/Bontrager Livestrong is chasing hard but he isn't going to catch him before the line

Rodriguez crosses the line as the winner, but can barely take his hands off the handlebars, as he put so much effort in to the attack

Well today didn't go to plan for us at all, with Rodriguez getting away and winning and along with Dombrowski getting a big chunk of time in to Gary on the GC.
And Garmin - Sharp completely dominating the stage finish and now looking really strong, still one stage to go though

Seven riders have formed the break of the day and currently have a lead of 7m, they are Rosskopf/Team Type 1, Mach/Kenda 5 Hour Energy, Bush/Chipotle First Solar, Shelden/Competitive Cyclist, Lemus/Jelly Belly, Hegyvari/UnitedHealthcare, Brennan/Bissell Pro Cycling

Rodriguez is being well protected by his team back in the peleton

The lead has been reduced to 4m 9s

Morabito and Santambrogio of BMC, Fairly and Euser of Spidertech and Schildge of Jamis Sutter have managed to give the pack the slip and are now trying to cross the gap to the leaders

Lemus/Jelly Belly has a small advantage of 33s as he goes towards the climb to the finish

He has two minutes and three seconds lead on the peleton

A group with a lot of the top ten riders are going clear, but there is no sign of the yellow jersey

Dombrowski has gone clear on his own as the finish line gets closer and closer

And its a job well done for the young American
