A&E fired Phil Robertson, star of their #1 show Duck Dynasty, after he made "homophobic" comments in an interview with GQ.
Very sad , I have read the article, and I think he didn't see anything that was necessarily homophobic. He just said that he things homosexuality is a sin, but that it is not his place to judge.

I don't understand that, surely anyone who watched Duck Dynasty was aware that the main characters would not be pro gay.

Does anyone else thinks that this forum needs a bit more modern and more creative look? I mean, forums looked like this in 2005-2006 (no offense). PCMFocus is great example of "modern" and really nice forum , imo + it has more options (in terms of typing, it's just bigger and easier to read, etc.)
Well if you need the site to be bigger just scroll with your mouse forward whilst holding CTRL, that scales the site bigger (at least when you are using Firefox).

@Jseadog I disagree with that article's fourth point. I don't think he said anything offensive. He didn't say that he is for or against gay rights. He simply said that he thinks that homosexuality is sin, nothing more.

But that is offensive to gay people....
Spoiler Someone like me or you does not find that offensive, but you have to look at it from a gays point of view.

You don't have to be a homosexual to take offence at bigots saying that it's a sin. |

Well, first one would have to believe in such things as sins, hell (and heaven) to be offended.
Second, someone like this inspires compassion for being so retarded, so, erm, is there anything to debate about ? |

I don't understand how someone finds it offensive that another person disagrees with them. If someone disagrees with me on religion or politics, I really don't care. I'm fine with someone disagreeing with me on touchy topics.
Then again though, I'm not in a gay person's shoes. If they find that offensive, that is fine. I don't think it is grounds for a suspension though.

You say this is offensive to gays, but by that same logic should he be treated as equal no matter what his beliefs are?

If someone said having a certain shoe size in their religion was against their religion, would they be fired because they offended people with a size 10?

I bet they wouldn't
Another thing, the interviewer is clearly trying to get Robertson to say something controversial. I mean, if you ask a Christian about his opinion on sexual immorality and same-sex relations, you know what his/her's answer is going to be.

Yeah, what did they expect him to say? It wasn't like he came out and set it, he was asked and he answered what he thought. He wasn't making anti-gay comments, he was simply answering. And he didn't say anything anti-gay. he stated what his religion states.

Tell me, if you had an employee who had said something controversial and possibly hurt your company's image, you wouldn't fire him??
Sure, he has the right to say homosexuality is a sin, but employment =/= legality.
