Here comes the crazy conspiracy theories... I had seen that one coming since I read the news that Bin Laden had been buried in the sea.
As someone else noted, USA wouldn't announce this unless they were 100 % sure that Bin Laden wouldn't ever be able to send out a video tape of his ugly face again.
Also, it's sad that Bin Laden wasn't caught alive. It would have been great to torture the guy
My random conspiracy theory is that Osama killed himself rather than be taken alive, hence why the US didn't show anyone the body

yes, the election is in 2012, but the actual campaign will begin soon.
what better way to start a campaign then to be able to say you are the president who took down Bin Laden?
Incorrect. Obama will start his campaign once, or, just before, the Republicans vote for their candidate. The nomination process for the major parties technically continues until June of the election year (i.e. 2012). Last time, Obama was voted as Democrat nominee in March 2008, as was McCain for the Republicans.
So it's about 10 months early at the very least

The basic premises is that if the Pakistani military/authorities were complicit with al Qaeda, then via funding of Pakistanis, the USA had been indirectly funding al Qaeda
