Solid ride by the race leader. Unlucky Velits.

Very lucky Galta to not be gapped by the group behind the front. Time wise it's much better than the first mountain stage. He's also among the worse on the hills, but it's still worrying that he doesn't seem to be attentive at all. I'm definitely hoping for a change as the race goes on!
And congratulations, jph27! Monsalve with an encouraging start in terms of the GC, and a good result here could see you stay safe from relegation threats, and even dream about a top 10, I guess.
Also thank you, SN, for you consistent and good quality reporting |

Very interesting stage, with lots of action, unlike the previous schizophrenic hilly stage.
I have to admit I was rooting for Talansky there to take the win, being TMM's GT debut, and all his positive posts (nothing to do with the girls *cough cough). Monsalve though is a very deserving winner, congratulations jph!
Regarding my feelings on Reis, just read ember's words on Galta.
And thanks again, SN. Typical high-quality GC material from you!

That hilly stage went as good I could hope, very impressed by the team and their leader so far.

Two great stages to follow, not often to see as early an attack from a top GC favorite as the one from Jose Alarcon, also nice tactical race from Monsalve to get that stage win, congratulations to the winner and thanks for those great reports.

Scarponi doing fine so far, close to the top 15GC, Dzhus going well in the U25s too.
Pibernik, Orlov and Kochetkov are doing their best in the breaks, but would like to see Prevar in one soon...

With a time gap between Velits and groups of favourites, it would be a good stage for us. In this case, it is just another nice stage result. Alarcon is a beast.

Again a minute lost against identical riders that started the climb behind Bongiorno. Not a lot of fun. It's been months since a Puma overperformance.
Maybe 17th is already far enough down for breakaways though.

Alacorn in beast mode. Huge Hugo races everywhere.
Morton with a loss, but no huge damage done. He's active, which is good. Will be tough to defend this 2nd place over the next 10 stages, but he looks in decent shape and just had one crash in ten days!
Another great report. Thanks SN!

Alarcon continuing to be a class above the rest. Congrats again, dev!
Some of our PCT colleagues with a good race here. Especially Ferrero looks like they have found some very good form after a slow start in the other mountain races so far. Obviously a non counting race this, but I'll imagine it's a good to see both Henao and Kolesnikov dping great here.

This stage pretty much ended as their stats are. Remembers on old PCMs.
Olivier just outside top10 and it will be hard to get into. Gaps are tiny to next 3-4 in both ways though.
He really needs to attack now long range to have the chance to gain time really.
Though right now, it`s looking okay, in especially seeing his early crashes and time losses.
Kolesnikov with his usual GT performances. Quite incredible rider really.
Thanks for the report, once more, great read and congrats Hugo Boss. Clearly Alarcon the strongest. |

No doubt who's the best here. Will he be as good in the last weekend?
Morton maybe a bit stronger later on but 4 minutes is much.
Abal doing a bit better then expected which is fine as Ahlstrand have done the opposite. Lövkvist and Ludvigsson still have a fight who will be best in the GC |

Boring for us, that we aren't avle to get intro the breaks, but I guess we can stop hoping now, as the GTs are often providing the same 10-15 attackers.
So when ignoring what we would have liked, this was a good stage for us. Vasyliv climbing to his max potential (I Think), and Kastrantas also moving a bit up to 45th.
Good to see Moser getting what was expected here from Velits.

Finally Galta woke to life! That was much better, and I'm very happy to see him go 10th on the stage and climb to 11th overall. Also an amazing ride by Stake, being up there with Galta for much of the climb.
Alarcon is just untouchable this race, it seems. And what a race it will then be for Hugo Boss! Must say it's cool to see a newly promoted team arrive the Giro and completely boss it, at least so far. Congratulations, dev!
For Galta, it looks like he should be able to fight for 9th overall, looking at the riders in front of him. Though, it's very close behind, so a lot of riders are involved in that fight. |

And our success continues, this is so rewarding watching Ablenado tear up the stage and Alarcon finnish it up Must say Alarcon was worth every penny so far and our core built up over the years seems to be strong enough. Infact, im yet to see our strongest domestique in Carapaz take a turn. Which could be good or bad, just hoping he isnt hindered by his early crash as he may be needet laiter.
Really enjoyable giro, cant see Alarcon lose except for a crash now.
Thanks for the congratz guys, really nice to get my 3rd PT Win within 4 possible stages.
Also what a race for wildcards Samruk, was having my doubts that Kolenishikov would get caught. Nice to see Velits deliver on a more expected level too.
Absolutely thrilling reports too really makes me excited for the remaining stages!

Another dominant win from Alarcon, who seems set to take all MTFs here. Velits finally brought is A-game to the table, while I reckon Morton is still slightly disappointing. It must be said that stat-wise these guys should be much closer to Alarcon. The difference can only be justified from the strength of Hugo Boss in comparison with the others.
Reis' first sign on life is amusing, I'm hoping he continues to improve.
