National Tour Stage 3 Preview

imageshack.us/a/img541/9337/0s9j.jpg
Today's stage is a bumpy ride along the coastline of Corsica. There is 4 KOM climbs: 1 cat 4, a cat 3, and two cat 2, the last of the climbs tops out 14 km from the finish in Calvi. It is expected that a puncher or a breakaway will take the win on the last stage on this beautiful island.

The Favorites

imageshack.us/a/img29/5940/pzpo.jpg
Philippe Gilbert had great legs yesterday and lead the peloton in for a second place. Can he repeat yesterday's success?
imageshack.us/a/img542/3576/pbjd.jpg
Assuming Greipel gets dropped on the last climb, Alejandro Valverde would most likely inherit the yellow jersey. Can he get the win though?
The Outsiders

imageshack.us/a/img818/687/lsi.png
Thomas De Gendt showed some sprinting legs yesterday taking 5th place at the finish in Ajaccio. Belgium has dangerous one-two in De Gendt in Gilbert.
imageshack.us/a/img6/2360/hae5.jpg
Geraint Thomas beat Valverde yesterday and if does it again he may take over the yellow jersey. Can he get another good placing?
imageshack.us/a/img59/4296/favj.jpg
Sylvain Chavanel is the Frenchman who is expected to do well today on home soil. He is far down in the GC so the bunch may let him go if he puts in an attack.
imageshack.us/a/img33/7923/lomk.jpg
Michał Kwiatkowski put in a big move yesterday, but was caught one kilometer from the line. He can climb with the best and in a very reduced bunch could find himself the best sprinter in group.

Jseadog1: Maybe he can repeat his stage wins irl
woodzy990: They've been really unlucky attacking every day but not getting a rider into the breakaway
Sutty: Well they are getting into the breakaway which is you could hope for
Cycleman123: Go someone other than Froomebot
Selwink: It was a very good day for Switzerland
Ollfardh: Gilbert has more wins in his national team jersey than his rainbow jersey:lol:

TTT will be posted later today. I may do the next stage tonight but its unlikely

National Tour Stage 4 Preview

imageshack.us/a/img560/4686/9ejw.png
Today's stage is a 25 km Team Time Trial around the city of Nice. There are no individual points available so the focus is on getting points for the team, and the general classification. There won't be big gaps, but there will be more space between the riders.

The Favorites

imageshack.us/a/img203/3715/eq4d.jpg
Team USA is the clear favorite for today's win, they have no weak Time Trialists on team so there are no weak points.
imageshack.us/a/img842/8779/z3tq.jpg
Team Great Britain is another team with a lot of solid guys and a couple of stars in Wiggins and Froome.

imageshack.us/a/img18/3281/m41x.jpg
Team Switzerland is a favorite because of one man: Fabian Cancellara. His team managers have joked about letting ride the whole race on the front. If that happens I would expect a very good time from the men from Switzerland
imageshack.us/a/img580/8954/s61p.jpg
Team Italy will hope to put leader Vincenzo Nibali in the yellow jersey with a good performance in the team time trial.

The Outsiders

Team Spain
Team Netherlands
Team Australia
Team France

National Tour Stage 4 Highlight Show

imageshack.us/a/img541/6645/5ywf.jpg
Lithuania was the first time to start and they came in with a time of 30 51. It didn’t last long at the top.
imageshack.us/a/img59/8310/bckt.jpg
Kazakhstan was the next team across the finish line coming in with a time of 29 03.
imageshack.us/a/img835/2981/3oie.jpg
After Russia finished with a time 15 seconds slower than Kazakhstan, Switzerland came in with a time of 28 41 to take over the lead.
imageshack.us/a/img12/8273/fmpi.jpg
Denmark was the next team with a respectable time as they came in 15 seconds slower than the Swiss riders.
imageshack.us/a/img19/3241/htse.jpg
Portugal put in a good performance coming in only 13 seconds slower than team Switzerland.
imageshack.us/a/img200/5193/lb8m.jpg
The Netherlands were the team to dethrone Switzerland coming in with a time of28 26.
imageshack.us/a/img194/6773/i9qt.jpg
Germany had the best time at the intermediate split, but faded over the second half and came in a provisional 8th 56 seconds behind the Dutchmen.
imageshack.us/a/img708/9370/20x2.jpg
Team Australia was the next team to put in a good effort. They came in a provisional third place 17 seconds behind the current leaders.
imageshack.us/a/img547/4707/w639.jpg
France did a solid ride only losing 22 seconds over the 24 km course.
imageshack.us/a/img580/1558/6tsf.jpg
Team USA was expected to put in a good performance and didn’t disappoint coming in with a time of 28 10 in first place.
imageshack.us/a/img21/6138/s311.jpg
Poland is one the countries that no one thought would do a good TTT, but we were wrong as they came in a provisional fourth one second faster than France.
imageshack.us/a/img594/7576/mn5f.jpg
Spain put in a solid defense of the yellow jersey coming in 17 seconds down on the US in third place.
imageshack.us/a/img801/1306/6axq.jpg
Team GBR rode a slightly disappointing TTT finishing a provisional fourth place 21 seconds down on the US.
imageshack.us/a/img844/1683/pmvw.jpg
Belgium rode a solid race coming in 23 seconds behind the USA in 5th place.
imageshack.us/a/img545/6303/g0a0.jpg
Italy was the last team out on course and came in with a second place 9 seconds behind today’s winner Team USA! This means that Vincenzo Nibali will take over the lead in the GC! The Netherlands takes third, with Spain fourth ahead of GBR in fifth.

Cancellara only came to the front once so that would be why, same thing with Germany.
