Well... Although Donneaux throws 3 minutes on the first stage he slowly, and under the radar end up 3rd. Durbridge lost the final time trial by 4 seconds to Cancellara.
A top-3 was above all expectations. |

Finances
I had a brief meeting with the team sponsors today. They will up the sponsorship 1000 for each point we gain in the World Tour.
This is of course only if we manage to stay on the World Tour.
At this very moment we have gained 148 points. That's 148.000 extra. |

The race:
Halfway through the race 5 men break away. It's Cunego, Rolland, Scognamillio, Visconti and Van Garderen
Swiss Life - Tissot sets a high tempo on one of the climbs and they get rid of Greipel.
Unfortunately our guys were too tired to fetch water for gerhardsson so he was picking up his own water when the peloton split in two, and he never came back.
Gerhardsson ended up 29th...
Matthew Goss won in front of Oss and Vanmarcke.

That's too bad, "losing" that way, I have that too sometimes in cobbled races or mountain stages.

@IanButler - Well.. We were in front of the peloton for 75% of the race. And one could see a very angry Gerhardsson yelling when he found out he had no teammates left.
@Sutty68 - Yeah.. That's life.. You snooze, you loose... Very poor bottle management from me.. Sad it happened on a day where he had +4 .. He could have won :-( |
