Just too sad we (still) have to look at terror-lists to find people like him.
That thin line between freedom fighter and terrorist depending on who tell the story...
Madiba was not a great man for his terrorist activity but for his wish of forgive in the 90's
In my book he's also a great hero for having freed the (black) South African people from a cruel regime.
The terrorist acts were only terrorist acts because he had no nation. What the Apartheid did to the black population was already terror. Sometimes the opressed have to take up arms to get their freedom.
I just find it a bit hipocrit some of the people wanting to be associated with the man, but yet keep on fighting against all Mandela believed.
For me it's not OK to want Madiba's glory but continue to fight against what he believed. For example when it comes to Palestinian independence.
People love him as a symbol, but a lot forget to learn from his teachings...
I really don't think that the Palestinian independance is the same thing that Mandela's fight for rights. The Palestine would have been independant if arabic countries didn't attack Israel in 48, so the only fault is the one of Egypt, Syria...

RIP Nelson Mandela, you were a truly inspirational man to so many and it is very sad to see you go.

On a slightly lighter note, although I know the topic here often drifts onto holidays, I just thought I'd mention that I'm off to Bhutan tomorrow for a two-week holiday, which will hopefully be really fun (though I've never had to cope with two weeks without Daily before since I joined ). It's a fascinating country that not many people have visited before.
Spoiler contains a picture of the runway of the airport... Safe to say I'm a little scared

I like that there is a trail of smoke just left from the runway

don't know why that's relevant to the trail of smoke but whatever
I have to say that Walking Dead was looking very nice for me for the whole first series, but level of pathetic crap was getting so damn high with every episode, that i even did not finish the second one.
Only half naked cowboy riding around with an american flag and shooting zombies left and right while smoking a marlboro was missing...

I've actually never seen it. But you when you started saying: "half naked cowboy riding around with an american flag and shooting zombies left and right while smoking a marlboro" I really got interested too bad you were only making a point with it. Adding the cowboy would make for a great, bad, series!

The main problem is its inconsistency and level of pace. The show has way too many flaws to be considered brillant or something, for example you can't take the characters serious when they behave like they are in some soap opera. Constant changes of opinions have nothing to do with character development. It's also all too predictable, and that's not good, since such a show wants to live on the unpredictable, that can happen any time.
I still watch it because I wonder how much more they can mess it up. Season 3 was one big awful joke, Season 2 was god damn boring except for a brillant mid-season and season finale and Season 4 dragged out their location for waaay too long. Besides that, I still like the feeling and atmosphere of the show but everything besides that, from the shoot-outs to the characters, it's pretty dull.

Walking Dead has run into the classic Zombie problem. Once you've gone "hey look, Zombies" there is not a lot more to come through. They've done little bits of survivor syndrome and coping with the aftermath, but it's always been a secondary thought in the writing and acting.
Zombies are best left to straight up horror/action set piece style media. Films do this well as they can be dealt with in a short time period and retain the impact. Sequels that develop from there have clearly defined moods and trends which, while not always being fresh, are at least consistent and engaging. The same goes with games. And that is because the focus is always superficial with little deeper meaning.
Or as some cases do it is all about the deeper meaning, and that becomes incredibly engaging at a mental level. However these only work when that extra meaning is the focus. You should be able to replace the Zombies with some other apocalypse/psycho etc up and make no real changes to the overall story, characters etc.
Walking Dead straddles the grey area between the two set ups. Half the time it's "Zombies, let's kill them in nice set pieces" and half the times it's human drama. The whole thing comes off as confused and pretty weak. More recently it has just resorted to shock and awe tactics.
Really not a fan of it. Especially when there are better horror/action with Zombies, and better emotion/psychological with Zombies.
