Last easy day before we hit the Pyrenees and Andorra tomorrow. Not saying that this will necessarily end up in a mass sprint though, as there are plenty of climbs en route for those wanting to eliminate the sprinters.

For some annoying reason, Garmin did not allow us to send either Boom or Bonnin into the breakaway. Due to us trying several times, it took all the way to the day's second climb for a breakaway to form. No group today though, just Posthuma soloing over the many climbs.

But once again GreenEDGE wasn't going to let him go. He fought back for a long time, but inside the final five kilometers, the advantage was down to less than a minute. We tried to break up the chase with our train.

To our frustration, yes. This man is just unbeatable in the sprints at the moment, so Van Hummel had to settle for yet another second place. No doubt that these two are on another level at the moment.

In terms of climbing meters, by far the hardest stage in the whole race. The route includes three huge climbs, including Collada del Cantò and the eternal slope leading all the way up to Andorra and Pic del Maià. We shouldn't expect major gaps however, as the last climb is long, but not very steep.

This turned out to be a very fast day in the saddle. Sky and Caisse upped the pressure already on the day's second climb, shattering the main field. No more than fifty riders left in the group after this climb, still with a long way to go.

Many kilometers later, once we finally reached the slightly harder part of the Maià climb, Cobo kicked first. Still well over ten kilometers to go, but we decided to chase as he is very dangerous in the overall.

Henao was soon off in pursuit after Cobo as well, overtaking Fuglsang, who chose to take it slowly as usual. Behind them, the big group really started to break up, with riders dropping off in exhaustion.

A little bit later up the slopes, Fuglsang reconnected with his two main rivals, who in the process brought back the last few pieces of the break.

After that catch, we had a big anticlimax without any attacks. Just ahead of the final kilometer, Barredo saw the opportunity to go and did so. We focused on marking Henao, who now took command in the chase.

While entering the final kilometer, Cobo managed to create a small gap between himself and number one and two in the GC. On the home stretch, Barredo desperately tried to hold off the pursuit from behind.

He was clearly completely empty, since his countryman Cobo easily jumped over him just before the line to take a strong victory. Bonus seconds plus a bit of advantage throws him back into the battle again.

Henao also came around Barredo to grab the twelve bonus seconds, but Fuglsang ran out of road to pick up the last eight. A pity to miss out on them, but at least he didn't lose any actual time on hsi main rival.

Sella led home a bigger group just over a minute later, helping his tiring leader, Marzano. No difference between him and Machado.

Results unfortunately refused to export, so just a Top 10.
