Valentines day, and rather than being at home, i'm here in Saint Cannat for the Tour Mediterraneen, she understands though.
So anyway what do we know? We're leading team standings, 4th in GC, todays stage in Lumpy but should end in a sprint. It's from Saint Cannat to Marigane which is 140km. The riders have told me they're up for todays stage which for the manager makes life easier (hurray!).
Did a interview with local tv today too, they asked general questions about the racing, one question that made me think was "You're 20 seconds back, you going to try and get them back". Well it was a good question, am I, Could I?
Today Le Mével was sent up the road, he was 10 minutes down on GC.
However, it was easy to see why. He's very tired and couldn't keep up, he's todays Poursuivant .
Today we have a breakaway group of 8 riders, included is a rider we need to keep an eye on.
The final climb of the day see's Le Mével caught.
This group of 2 riders have 1"37' on the peloton as they prepare the sprint trains, it's going to be close!
The breakaway holds on, just!
The name of today's winner: Andrey Amador
Horner retains the overall lead and looks set to win the race tomorrow.

And of course, we're still best team. That's quite a good prize to win actually, it shows that the squad is good for upcomming races this year.

Well, so far no victories here, could today be different? We hope so, we've asked our team to go for the sprint here and let's see what happens.
Anyway first things first, Horner seems fit to win the race. This is basically a 3 lap circuit the only thing to split things is a 2km climb each lap, shouldn't be too hard though. Other than that it's a straight final 3km.
Sauvain - Gruission 130km, lets go!
Meersman attacks today
But after one lap of the 40km circuit, he's back in the peloton, there are 0 gaps.
Just when you thought we were in for an easy rider, Pérez and Lang attack.
The 2 leaders about to face the final climb of the day before being swallowed by the peloton and spat back out the other side most likely.
Here's a scenario we didn't expect, a rider powering away (not by sprint), however we got 2nd.
Jonas Ljungblad on the podium

So, despite not winning a stage but comming very close, the team classification is a good result for us. We've got one more race in the warm climate, it's the Tour du Haut Var after that we're off to the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

Draguignan is the setting for the next one day race we'll be taking part in, it's the Tour du Haut Var of course, so what's in store? It's one for the guys who can get over the climbs and then sprint to sucess i think.
I'm hoping to send a bunch of guys who can climb over the hills but also have a good sprint on them.
Saving the cobbled guys now for the first few cobbled races and the cobbled season which is fast approaching.
So here's the profile:

Welcome to Draguignan for the 41st Tour du Haut Var, it's 194km long, quite hilly actually too, we expect an attack from hilly riders towards the end of the race, it's the last race we're doing before the cobbles begin, so let's race.
So, first kilometer, first attack, we sends Guesdon up the road.
But as usual with first KM attacks, the peloton says no.
So, later on in the race the break of the day is Louder and Joachin
Right at the top of the final climb, Moreau attacked, we send Casar to go with him.
All came together, the break of the day, it's chasing groups and the favouites group to have a group of 15 sprinting. Trofimov won the sprint.
So, Trofimov wins the 41st Tour du Haut Var

So, here we are, Northern classics begin again. Gent is always a great place for cycling though, let's put it this way, the belgians love their cycling and i'm sure we'll see this on the road tomorrow.
As you can see it's 199km with some tough cobbled sections in there, we expect a strong cobbled guy to go out there and take the win.
