Spoiler Yeah, this is a big factor for sure and not only because of getting bored, but because with time people have actually important things to do.
I know that very well, being probably near the top of oldest MG members list.
Why the spoiler?
Well, at first, I wanted to say they grow up and they don't enjoy games like this one anymore. But then I realized that might not be the case since maybe not everyone was in the 9th grade when they joined the game. And looking at your profile I can see you're 9 years older than me

Rosch in the KOM jersey is good to see. Alarcon is unstoppable it seems.

I read all the PT reports (as you can probably tell from the WN) but i don't comment much because i don't have much to say. I'm loving SRB's move for Alarcon is paying off big time and he's been amazing to watch yet again here in Colombia. Certainly my favorite PT team this season (totally due to taking my rider on loan) and it's great to see them getting results.
Overall it's been a good solid race and it is always good to see the top climbers in action. Great quality of reporting as always from SN.
On activity. It's frustrating to see some PT managers so poorly active, just scraping by at the lower end of passable activity for a lot of the time. A few teams disbanding in the off-season combined with those coming up though and next season it will be a nice and active place. I also don't mind not seeing them commenting on PCT or CT races. General interest is nice but if they are active in their own division that should be enough.

I feel the same it's nice to comment at the end of the long tours because the reporters have put in a lot of effort but most of the time the teams that win I don't really have a connection with the team or managers. |

Well I hope that if someone truly is bored of the game, that they do consider dropping out at the end of the season, as mattiasgt did last year.

I'm very happy for Rothaus' win here. I really hope they will survive, as I like their team setup a lot, and the effort and thought put into the teams development is great.
Vadim Ratiy climbed another spot to finish 23rd which is acceptable. I would have liked to be inside top 20, but giving the fact that he crashed and lost quite a lot of time, this is fine. Lecuisinier as 9th in the Young riders competition is also nice. He seems to be constantly in the top 10, which makes me believe he is ready to be leader in some races next season.

+1
And so Velits actually was better than Contador in the final GC because of that time bonus in a sprint stage! I would have never thought a domestic like Leigh Howard can make a difference in a climbby race like this.
Big thanks to SN for all these nice reports. Congrats to Smowz, big win for his team. It will be interesting to see what this race does with the team standings.

Very good TTs from both Contador and Antón, giving them both a nice GC placing.
Alarcon and Simply Red Bull must be making a serious move in the overall classification now, maybe even being close to 5th place, which I'm sure Smowz will be delighted about considering most managers didn't expect Alarcon to have such a season.
Good stage win for Rothaus as well, no doubts they needed that, congratulations, roturn!
And thanks for great reports throughout the whole race, SN. I feel it has been a very good race seeing all the action that has happened on the mountain stages.

Yap, cool win for Rothaus, that was nice to see. Gratz, roturn!
Loved that "fun fact" regarding Alacorn's gap yesterday and his final margin on Machado in the GC. As if he had pre-written this story. Pretty epic. In general, a great race to follow: not only because of some entertaining racing and cool stories (like Suaza or Henao's win) but of course thanks to some damn quality reports. Really loved the passion here, great stuff, SN!

Just a fantastic performance so happy to have cashed in with another GC win.
My expectations were fairly high coming in here, though I would have been happy enough with a podium place.
It should be nice for me - I have some hopes for a decent GC in the TONE race though cobbled AI in stage races can be very dodgy. At least Cancellara has the chrono to cause damage.
Alarcon vs Schleck in Liechtenstien should be a mounthwatering clash

Not the best race. After Henao's crash it looked like it would be way worse though. The teams' classification and a stage win are a nice reward in the end.
Great work on the reports, SN

The worst race for my team during whole season. Hopefully things will improve again in upcoming races. Thanks SN for quality and fast reporting and congratulation to all successful. Alarcon is a beast!

Thanks for those excellent reports.
I somehow expected to eventually win this one after seeing no big timetrialist here. So really happy to finally get a realistic stage win. (If not counting the Gomez Marchante Giro doping performance)
And with two excellent time trialists I would have been disappointed If I hadn't taken a single tt win after the season.
Top 10 GC is okay. Had hoped for a top5 but knew this wasn't possible with that start list.
Olivier with a nice top 50. Well done.
Now Keizer hopefully at least with the same performance in Deutschland. Hopefully more though with less climbing.
Still this is too less scoring seeing that direct opponents are scoring more I think. So might take the last relegation spot eventually ahead of Santander at least I hope.
Congrats Smowz. Incredible performance.
And also congrats to SN. Big step top win it all. Never had expected Suaza that good. Thought he would go like Ratiy around 20th. |

Wasn't worth the air fare to take the team here
Nice to my old rider Jaime Suaza doing well here though. And what a season from Alarcon

I like that disc wheel on the right. Never noticed that before, but it's cool. My vote for photo of the stage.
Pity the team couldn't hold onto the Team GC win, slipping from 2nd to 3rd on that TT stage, but a stage win from Scarponi was probably more than I deserved from the race.
I enjoy seeing the time gaps blossom out like a Grand Tour final result from such a mountainous stage race, and planning for this race I have to wonder why any manager sent any sprinter here!
Changing the version of PCM over the years has always created interesting game dynamics, and once again Alarcon has done well out of it. I can't say I'd ever really rated him as a pay-attention-to rider before, but I'll be watching for his name from this season onwards.
Some brilliant stage reports as usual, so thank you.

Well my sprinters got me more points than my climbing team did, so that is why I brought them.

Thanks for the reports SN. This is a big boon for Rothaus in an effort to stay up.

Whoah! I'm a little late to the stage 11 party here, but I have to comment that the Alarcon performance was insane. Made Amador and Machado look like babies.
Congratulations Smowz, what a great performance. Also congrats to Gustav, I always like to see Amador and Machado in the same races because they are such similar riders in my eyes. It seems like the trend had been that Amador has a slight edge, but Machado was super strong here and won out.
I've always been a huge fan of the Vuelta a Colombia, and I'm a little bummed that Amador didn't put up a better fight to defend his title. I would have also liked to see Matthias Frank do a little better than 55th. Overall I can't complain about being on a podium I suppose.
Thanks SN, another epic tour of Colombia. I loved it. Such a great race.

I'm sad this is over. Our best race of the season, despite the fact that early on I had hoped Machado could go all the way and take this home.
But Alarcon was perfect. Absolutely deserved victory for Smowzy.
Loved the reports too, with all the typical SN prose and graphical input. Superb stuff, thanks for that.
EDIT: Ahaah take that Bushwackers jk, it's great to have had this clash between our 2 leaders and congrats on your result as well
