Critérium International - Stage 1
The first race of the day will be the last Tour for Team A this spring. After that the'll have time to rest and get fit for the end of the summer again.
And the team who set the bar high for Team B to follow wanted to end their first part of the season with a high note.
With Haussler and Larsson preparing for their first WT race for IAM Cycling it was on Pelucchi to sprint for the victory.
Right from the start a breakaway formed. Hollenstein decided that he'll follow the breakaway and grabbed the first 6 KOTM points.
At the finish it was the inevitable mass sprint. With 5 km IAM was looking good their sprint train was set up perfectly, what could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately Pelucchi lost contact with the train as the fight for the best position before the sprint took place. The IAM train slowed down just a second, but it was already too late. Neither Pelucchi nor Bandiera could pass the other riders as they were blocked in.

Settimana Coppi e Bartali - Stage 4
In Italy there was the fourth stage today. With this being a hilly stage with lots of steep climbs Denifl attacked right at the start. The breakaway of four got away quite fast and had over 10 minutes on the peloton. Even with the Peloton trying to catch them it would be a hard task for them. With 40 km to go they still had an advantage of 6 minutes, and the big climbs were all done. But the group just couldn't keep their high pace up anymore. With 15 km to go the small Peloton caught up to them.

5 km to go. Gatto (VIN) launched his final attack. Both Tschopp and Goddaert followed his attack, but they didn't seem to be in a good form anymore... Could they possibly keep up? No, they couldn't. Kolobnev (KAT) took this victory today.

"The first race of the day will be the last Tour for Team A this spring. After that the'll have time to rest and get fit for the end of the summer again."
Not going to have Löfkvist + Larsson for Romandie or Suisse?
Edit: or did i misunderstand?

Not for the Romandie but for the TdS. That way both teams had one important race at the beginning of their fitness peak. |

Settimana Coppi e Bartali - Stage 5
In Italy it was the last mountain stage before the final time trial. It was also the last day for Denifl to win the KOTM.
The race started slow. With an early breakaway the peloton wanted to keep their strenght for the last third of the race. At the second and steepest climb of the day Denifl launched his attack and very quickly caught up with the breakaway. He immediately pushed the tempo and with a very high pace they biggened the gap.
With just 25 km to go and still a lead of almost 6 minutes it looked like this breakaway could go all the way. Denifl whoi already secured the first place in the KOTM now rode for the stage win.

8 km to go... it got really mixed up now. With the GCs attacking from the peloton and quickly gaining ground the breakaway had to pick up the pace.
Rosa (AND) launched an attack, but Denifl stayed calm and kept his fast pace up to the top. With just 28' behind he went into the descent.
Meanwhile the GCs with Tiralongo (AST) and Kolobnev (KAT) already caught the others from the breakaway miraculously making up 5 minutes in just a couple km.
With 48' Denifl had to keep up his pace to secure a podium. he did! What a fantastic race of Denifl taking second place and the climbers jersey!
