I don't understand why you don't create a different 21 stage for your variants |

Some promising "features" in this one Also really like the route. No "going crazy" on dozens of MTFs, but hard stages to make up for the lots of TT kms. Nice job, will be giving it a go certainly
Oh, and of course, nice nice to see new stages by you
thanks. keep me posted how you'd like it.

You mean the 21th stage?
You wanna know the reason why a 21th stage isn't needed or are you saying "How dare you!"?^^

Looks like a nice mix of MT vs TT, probably a bit to TT friendly but compared to most other variants it makes a nice change.
One thing that i noticed was the stage lengths. They are all rather long stages, and several are very very long. Its not a big thing but its, for me, unrealistic.

The only thing I could change is the tunnel, but in the end it would just a flat stage and then the monument of champs elysees. Honestly, I don't feel its really needed and would make a difference. The original one is fine.

thank you. Do you mean the stage length in general or the length of the TTs?

General stage length.
TT's are fine, but some of the stages are really long for a GT, and most are 170+ not allowing for much rest. I guess its just personal preference

I dont know. The real 2013 route covers a total distance of 3360km, 2012 even 3497km. This variant has "just" over 3200km.
My longest stage is about 228km, 4 stages over 200km in general.
In 2012 there were 6 stages over 200km, the longest one with 226km. This year there will be also 6 stages over 200km, the longest even 242km.
But I agree with you in some point. Besides the 19th and 21th stage there is no stage shorter than 180km. Also in the last mountain stage could be probably about a HC-Mountain over the top. Maybe I will deliver a shortened stage without the Col de la Madeleine. We'll see.
Maybe you will give it a try at some point in the future and tell me your result

I'm considering downloading your Tour de France variant and implement it in my current database (from my current story)
The profile looks really cool, but I just wonder, are the stages hard on the computer? I mean size-wise and does it contain any bugs? My computer is quite "tender" so I need perfect stages who also preferably are not too big. (for example, ingame Milan - San Remo is just about big enough, but it can't get bigger than that)
EDIT: Your Tour de France 2000 seems really cool too. Has this an easy gameplay? So again, not too big (and wide roads)? sorry for the tough questions, but I don't want to download two variants to find out my game crashing because my computer can't handle it

Some hard questions here.
First of all thanks for the interest. I guess you talk about the new variant. Well, size-wise there are files at ~10mb max. Sanremo is about 11mb. I don't know what you mean with bugs, all I say is I tested all stages and I got no problem. Slopes should be fine, wide roads for good gameplay. And I also not had the best machine out there.
The 2000 stages are not perfect, to be honest. But its playable. But roads are mostly '2' value, so I would suggest you to take the new variant, its better in case of gameplay, roads, slopes and landscapes.

Just played the first stage of the Tour Variant, actually 2nd stage (including prologue) I must say: well done!
Roads are really wide and the gameplay is smooth, no lagging whatsoever, and a great view all the way. Excellent job, curious for the rest of that Tour |
